| Banjo Lessons  | | | |  Anyone have some good advice on how to learn to play the banjo. I got one recently, but dont think there is anyone locally to teach me. I have no musical backround and am wondering what the best way to start learning is. I have a book I am trying, but it is just o.k.. I have already broke 2 strings and I think I am doing something wrong when I tune it. I bought a Korg tuner that I am not sure I am using properly. Any advice would be appreciated.

| |  Do you have a musical shop near you, I know here in Melbourne there is an association for Banjo Players, there used to be a club, it could be still going, a lot of the musicians of today started off by going to The Victorian Banjo Club, I hope you get to learn to play it, I love the sound of the banjo.

| | Thanks for the response. I went to a music store and they didnt know anyone that teaches the banjo in this area. Maybe I will check some other stores. I live in an area with a lot of small towns so they may not be many people who play the banjo. But I agree with you, I love the sound of it and really hope I can learn it. Should have started when I was younger. I am 39 now, so it is not too late. Do you play an instrument? | | | |
