I know that there are quite a few people with Celiac disease who can't tolerate the gluten found in wheat products. A brand new company not yet in the US is giving away free pasta made from rice flour instead of wheat flour as a way to introduce their product in the US. They are offering this through the website I've mentioned in the past, Five Dollar Dinners, where the goal is to serve balanced meals for a family of four for no more than $5 total. The blog will give the instructions for the entries (you get up to three), so I'll provide the link (NOT a referral - just a link to a blog I'm not affiliated with). http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/5Dinners/~3/MSNuuBcqdk0/gluten-free-pasta-giveaway.html Here are the instructions, but re-read them when you get there to understand them. I didn't the first time I entered one of these giveaways. Giveaway Details 1. Contest ends Tuesday, August 11th at 5 pm EST. Winner will be announced back here on this post, and notified via email with further instructions. 2. Entry #1: Leave a comment just saying you want to win. 3. Entry #2: Leave a SEPARATE comment telling me in what way you promoted this contest (i.e., posting it in a forum, posting about it on your blog, Tweet about it, emailing all your friends, and/or subscribe to my feed by email or in a reader). 4. Entry #3: Leave a separate comment with a helpful hint for cooking GF pastas (rice or corn). Or what’s your favorite GF pasta noodle, spaghetti, penne, shells, lasagna? 5. Winner will be selected by Random.org. No - I haven't gotten anything yet, but who knows? I like this site because there are lots of meal ideas that cost very little. As far as I'm concerned, even $5 for two people is a good price! So, I get the newsletter and check it out for meal ideas. They also have the latest info on sales throughout the country at local groceries. Unfortunately, no one in the webring seems to be in my section of the country. No matter - I still benefit from the info they offer. So - have you tried to cut costs in your grocery bill? Do you have any really good money saving meal ideas that you've done that you're really proud of? I'd like to hear.
