Apparently, for some, obesity has its advantages.... |
|
I put this here because there really isn't anywhere else to put it. The man in this news item is LARGE. So am I, but he's got well over 200 lbs on me. As a woman, I'm familiar with the "pencil" test - and trust me when I say I can easily hold the entire box! But, what this man held beneath his 'folds' could have proven to be far more endangering to life than his weight!

Considering all the possibilities that could have transpired, he's lucky he spoke up before he removed it. But, by the same token, no one even considered the possibility that he was carrying and it could have gone far worse for everyone around him.
So - do you think they'll start using metal detectors now?? (In Texas, of all places, where crackdowns on crime are rarely merciful and guns are popular - I would have thought this was a no-brainer!)

jerzgirl (2756) | 5 months ago | I think investing in the wand would be a prudent move - or one walk-thru and a wand in the intake area. I can't see it being that overwhelmingly expensive (compared to having guns inside).

jerzgirl (2756) | 5 months ago | I doubt it. A grenade, maybe. Stick of dynamite. But, I think even the AK would be a bit much (and uncomfortable) to keep on hand while selling pirated CDs out of the back of your car. LOL

iriscot (739) | 5 months ago | You're probably right, a grenade would be more like it. Everyone thinks that wearing a badge makes you smart... I don't think so!

jerzgirl (2756) | 5 months ago | Oh, I'm sure. My kids cousins used to take the baby stroller and regularly "shop" at K-Mart for clothes to sell door to door at half the ticket price. I don't know how they got away with it so regularly for so many years. They never got caught!!

jerzgirl (2756) | 5 months ago | Well, the gun wasn't loaded. But, my guess is he had it on him for protection on the street (or intimidation) and was so used to tucking it there, he totally forgot about it until he got in the shower. That, however, doesn't forgive the cops for not doing a complete search.
