Hey, Congress dropped the plans to buy those new jets

I just heard it on the news, did you?
Congress dropped the plans to buy those expensive new jets that the Pentagon did not even order. They were going to use the Air Force budget to do that. I think the Air Force Budget could be better spent on the Air Force troops.
What do you think? Is Congress beginning to listen to us?

Time will tell, my dear. I think it may be alittle premature to get too excited over Congress seeing things our way. Hopefully but I am not buying any concessions yet to root them on from. I hope they have what it takes and are listening. What a breath of fresh air that would be.

Let us be content to be cautiously optimistic. Fresh air and fresh ideas of being accountable to the people.

I think Congress was being a little hypocritical, jumping on to the CEO's for coming to DC in their jets. Then they turned around and was going to buy some for themselves. I thought the country was in a money crunch. But listening to Congress, you'd never know it!

That is good to hear. the money could be spent on much better things anyway and I agree with what you said that the money could go to the troops. I sure hope Congress is listening to us. It is such a mess when they strike out on their own.

I am glad they did. I think they know that if they spent that much on that, the would face alot of retaliation. As for listening to us, I really doubt it.

I am glad that people are getting more vocal about this kind of waste.

Since my local radio station didn't mention anything about this, I had no clue, seeing I don't even have TV let alone watch it anywhere else. Why buy jets that are not really needed, anyways? I'm sure the money could be better spent on the troops or something else that is really needed, not wanted.

I agree with you there. I would not have heard this but hubby was watching television in the background while I did MyLot. There are a lot of places that money would be more useful.

They'll hide the money in a bill somewhere and get the jets anyway, eventually. I don't think our congress and senate should be allowed private flights unless they pay for them with a personal account. Why shouldn't they fly coach on public airlines like the rest of us?

I think they should not be allowed to play with our money. Hope they do not hide it somewhere else.

They are past due to listen to what's going on in the real world. It's alot different than what goes on the their world.
