Which one you prefer? Liquid Shower Gel or Solid Soap? |
|
In the olden days, there are only solid, squarish, rectangular hard soap for taking shower or bath. But nowadays, due to creativity & innovation.. there are so many choices for us - we can choose liquid shower gel too. Many variants - aromatherapy, antibacterial, fruity - the choice is yours!
So, what are you using at the moment... need to run to the bathroom and check?
Which want do you prefer, perhaps you can share..why you choose it!!
Thanks and happy myLotting:)

1. carolscash (4886) | 5 months ago | I prefer to use liquid soap and I have several scents in them. I am currently using Dove Cool Fresh body wash. However, there is a new soap (by Dial I think) that it a pomegrante and I know that the bar soap has a better scent to it than the body wash does. I don't feel that the liquid soaps dry my skin out as much as the bar soap.

3. jonjee0203 (1836) | 5 months ago | At home, it's the traditional bar of soap. However, if I should stay at a hotel, I would use the complimentary liquid shower wash that the hotel provide in sachet form.I have not used any of those fruity soaps nor those aromatherapy soaps or gels.Since I do not shower but take a regular bucket bath,my friendly rectangular bar of soap is still my bathroom buddy.

Iriene88 (1198) | 5 months ago | Dear jonjee,
The price of the traditional bar of soap has increased. Does they still come in a pack of three? I still remember 'Lux' bar soap was such a luxury when we are younger..lol
Now Lux also have liquid gel.
Thanks for sharing and all the best!

jonjee0203 (1836) | 5 months ago | Everything is expensive these days including these so-called rectangular bars of beauty Lux soaps or Palmolive. For me, except for medicinal soaps that cost three times as much, this standard soap will do the job of cleansing our body. As you rightly put it, today we are too pampered with choice that we consider these bars of soaps a little inferior to gels and other forms of bath lotions. However, if cost is the consideration, I will select these soaps above all else.

5. cwong77 (1180) | 5 months ago | I use shower gel nowadays... Can't grib the soup properly with my little fingers, so decided to use shower gel which is much easier.. and once a while, pressing some on the bath sponge to have some form for the body feel really good...

8. jennifer611 (2079) | 5 months ago | hmmm... well, I buy bar soap more..but I do like liquid soap. though I never really thought about switching over or whatever. but coming to think about it, liquid might be better then bar soap. then your not touching your body with the same old soap or one that someone else may have used for their body (husband and kids). with liquid it would be like new and fresh everytime, untouched. so, maybe I will switch. your discussion made me think! lol

| 9. sulaiziana (34) | 5 months ago | I like liquid shower gel too, but in the long term, i prefer solid soap. Why? This is because many products like soaps, shampoos, detergents, toothpastes and other products that we expect to "foam up" commonly using this Sodium Laureth Sulfate and its close relative Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Unfortunately, both sodium laureth sulfate and its cousin are also very dangerous, highly irritating chemicals. Far from giving "healthy shining hair" and "beautiful skin", soaps and shampoos containing sodium laureth sulfate can lead to direct damage to hair follicle, skin damage, permanent eye damage in children and ever liver toxicity. Try to check up in your bathroom. I bet almost all of them have this Sodium Laureth/Lauryl Sulfate!!

| celestialbloom (90) | 5 months ago | I too choose to avoid products with SLS! I've read a lot about the bad side effects that these ingredients can produce, and until I swithed, I didn't realize how much they (and parabens) were to blame for so much of my skin and scalp irritation. Happy to see someone else feels the same!:)

10. dorannmwin (2556) | 5 months ago | For me it is a mixture between the two. For hand washing after using the bathroom it is just plain old regular Dial bar soap. For the shower, it is shower gel. At the moment I've been using Bath and Body Works Mango Mandarin, but when I run out of that I'll probably choose another scent. I choose products by Bath and Body Works because I don't feel like they dry my skin out. They have a very pleasant scent and they don't test on animals.
