Can Xabi Alonso be a success in Real Madrid?  | |  I hope you know him, Alonso the former powerful midfielder of Liverpool. Finally, the big spenders Real Madrid have laid their hands on him and he is off to Spain, joining Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and the rest of them great players to start a new life over there.
Although, it's a big loss to Raphael Benitez and Liverpool in general but will he make it in his new club Real Madrid? will he be able to deliver as he has always done in Liverpool?
I am not a Liverpool fan but he is a great player and i wish him the best of luck!!!

Alonso is a great player and of course he can bring the same impact to Real Madrid. The problem is not Alonso but the coach. If he want to go offensive, Alonso would be left out. There is a lot of offensive midfielder in Real Madrid team.
Alonso is more on defensive minded midfielder. And he is the best for that. If Real Madrid want to win something this season they should think about the defense too. They have a great goalkeeper but their defender is not very good. This is why Alonso is very important.
Liverpool play with two defensive midfielder last season in Alonso and Marsherano. They cover the defender very well. And that's why Liverpool can produce a clean sheet one after another.
For me, it is more to the coach intelligent to determine if Alonso can be success in Real Madrid. If he can play more then we can see a lot more from him. And La Liga is not as tough as EPL except for Barcalona match.
