I am not sure what is popular for little girls these days. You see we hadn't had a little girl in our family for about 15 years. Four years ago my niece had a baby girl. Last year my brother had a little girl. In January my daughter had a girl. Then in June my other brother had another girl. We had not had a baby girl in 15 years when my great niece was born. My youngest daughter was the last girl born before that. When my daughters and oldest niece were little, they liked Stawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, Cabbage Patch Dolls and Holly Hobbie. What is in style for them now? I know alot of little girls like Dora the Explorer, what else should I get them? I am getting my grand-daughter the computer games for learning for her age. She loves them. I also buy them books. What are the books that little girls like? We have always had lots of boys so that is what I am used to buying for. When I look at the stores there are so many new things for girls I have no idea what to buy. Please let me know what little girls want for Christmas.

Most of the things that you mentioned that your daughters were into have made a come back in the past few years. Things that little girls that I know are into are : Dora, Disney Princesses, My Little Pony (they are a favorite of my little girl and me, lol) , Littlest Pet Shop and Barbie. Most little girls like dress up clothes too. I personally disapprove of the Bratz dolls a previous poster mentioned, I know that they seem to be popular but to me they just are not the kind of dolls I want my daughter to play with.

We ended up buying lots of Dora educational toys. We also bought books. She loves books. I don't like the Brats dolls either. I looked at them and I don't think they are good for kids.

I have three words for you. Princesses, princesses, princesses! lol Around my house, it's all Disney princesses all the time. And it's so cool that there are so many themed items out there to choose from. Just about any price range you could want too. Other than that, the biggies for us are Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, and Dora. As for books, I *love* this as a gift idea. We are all book fiends around our house...from mom all the way down to the 2 y.o. You can't go wrong w/ Dr. Seuss. I truly believe reading those to my kids over & over again was partly what helped them learn to read so soon, and give them a love of reading. With all that said, I'm the fogie-type of person who believes very strongly in educaional gifts for kids. If nothing else, check out LeapPad toys. Put it this way. My 2 y.o. knows her alphabet already and I think the LeapPad helped at least a little with that. (well, and good genetics from mom! lol)

Yes the Princess's are really big. I like the leap pad toys. We bought lots of books and educational toys. We bought toys teaching English and Spanish. Always good to know a second language.

I have had others tell me to stay away from Brats. They don't give kids a good image of how to act.
