http://www.gizmag.com/air... a Gamer, have you ever been "encouraged" to stop as it wasn't going to be of any use in getting you a Job? Looks like things are changing with that.. Seems as though there's going to be more need for UAV drivers than regular Pilots soon..
What do you think on this?
Thanks for responses!

I will tell you about my experience in life, as early age of less than 5 I was exposed in video games during in the 80's. PC/Atari games like pacman if I remember correctly is the first one, so on and so forth for those racing games, galaga/galaxia, mario, etc.

When I was desperate to play games at my aunts house and no one is available to boot the pc. By remember those DOS commands, my aunt and cousin was sort of "in-shock" when I was able to operate on my own.

Later years, I think 1st year highschool when I ask my uncle on my father's side if I can try out the motorcycle, not a scooter. So this one have a clutch to operate the manual transmission. Since I was able to ride a bicycle self-taught, I was able to use the motorcycle without my uncle or any other people how to operate the sequence of clutch and throttle during transferring gears. I just remember how my uncle drive the motorcycle.

My dad was so furious that my uncle let me try out the bike.:)

During my college days, 1st year (I think 2000 or 2001 as I don't want to "exactly" remember the year=) ). I tried out my mom's car (without her knowing) which is a Mitsubishi GLXi Lancer A/T. I tried my first time using a car w/o (again) someone/somebody teaches me. Till now I was curious if she knew. I drove that car around the city. Without even a student license.

Last year, I bought a Honda Wave Motorcycle. My last ride is that riding my uncle's motorcycle during my 1st year highschool. And It's been a year now that I use my bike to go to the office back and forth. An overall of 76-80 kilometers(depends on traffic, and to where/what shortcut route I use) a day!

Just this year, my wife and I was able to buy an old car just for short transporation of getting to the groceries and such. It's an old Nissan 1988 California Wagon Type. After 8 years of no driving since the Mitsubishi car, I was able to drive this car. Take note, it's a M/T (Manual Transmission).

My point is today, I'm a Web developer/Programmer and I didn't even finish my 1st year of college. As I look back why I was able to try things first time (without accidents). I was a video gamer ever since, from the good`ol IBM PC 5 1/4 floppy disk, atari, good`ol wood arcade, NES, Gameboy, GameGear, Sega Genesis, SNES, Panasonic CD-i, Playstation, Playstation 2, Game&Watch, all those game console/arcade/pc games from 80 till today.

If somebody asked me (like my father), where the hell did you learn how to drive a motorcycle. I say excite-bike, or any other motorcycle racing game (jetmoto included as I love the way the bike counter-steer).

If somebody asked me (like my father again, where the hell did you learn how to drive a car. I would gladly say, my recent teacher is Need For Speed: Most Wanted.

Bottomline, self-taugh + observation + video games.

My primary reference is video games.:)
