When did you get your first cell phone or computer?

We got our first family computer before I myself ever had a cell phone! I didn't get a cell phone until I went to college. And even then I believe it was my sophomore year in college that I got one. Needless to say when my younger sister got one in her early teenage years I was none too thrilled. LOL

As for the computer, we had that while I was in high school - my guess would be when I was 14 or 15 years old.

I got my own personal desktop computer when I went to college. It was actually a high school graduation gift from my grandma!


So yea - I think I had to wait a reasonable amount of time to get these big items. Kids these days don't realize how easy they have it handed to them!

Hi there! I got my first PC when I was in Kindergarten and I got mt first cell phone when I was in grade 8! I've always loved those things when you get them for the first time! Happy mylotting!

i got my first cellphone as a christmas gift from my parents. i remember i got a nokia 5110 and at that time it was the best unit out until the 6110 and 6150 came out. lol! anyway, i really liked that cellphone and had lots of fond memories with it. too abd i lost it to a couple of thugs who held me up when i was on my way home very drunk after two days of non-stop partying.

my first computer unit was a graduation gift from my parents and although i only used that computer unit mostly for games and sending emails, that particular computer unit holds a special place place in my heart. i sold the computer unit when i upgraded to a better one but most if not all of the files i had saved there i still keep up to this day in the current computer unit i'm using at home today.

I got my first computer when I was 47 years old. I had to teach myself how to use it. I got my first cellphone when I was 48. Comes in handy when the car breaks down.

I got my first computer a long time ago, it was actually pre-windows. I was 9 years old when we bought it. I'd won a lawsuit against the school district and the first thing that I wanted to do with my money was buy a computer.
My first cell phone was several years after that. I was 17 years old when I got my first cell phone, and it was the biggest cell that I've ever had. Through the last 12 years I have continued to have both the same provider and the same number.

I got my forst cell phone when I was 11. It wasn't fancy by any means, it only had talk and text. But it sufficed for me for about 4 months before I got a much better phone with the same service. I got my first computer when I was twelve, just a year later, and it was a laptop that I bought from craigslist with my hard earned dollars.I know some people who allow their nine year olds to have phones, which I think is ridiculous.

Well, my first computer was Commodere C-64. It was about 16-17 years ago when my parents bought it for me and my brother!!! It served for games only (anyone remember games recorded on tapes?) and as I remember we were crazy about it hehehe... It could be the museum stuff now!
The first cell phone I had was Nokia but I don't remember what model exactly it was.

My first cell was this bulky thing back in about 1997, around that time. I think about that time I got a computer too and guess what we were on DIAL UP!!!!! Great invention huh??

Well get this, I was reading today that soon not only will computers be faster - which is not a surprise. But what got me was that by 2029 the same $1000 will buy a computer with a thousand times the capacity of the human brain. I thought they were like that already?? But it's amazing to know that they will be even more faster than they are now. In addition, all the rave will be 3d and virtual touch, which as we know is on the rise already with a few explicit websites.

I started to get on that computer as early as 2 years old. My dad is a computer engineer and fixes, repairs, sells, computer and computer appliances. So I got my first dell hp laptop junior year. I was extremely thrilled! I could study with this laptop at the library, at work (hehe), etc. I feel like a grown man already haha.

I got my cell phone in 7th grade, and texting in freshman year in high school. But the sad part about this is, I had to pay for texting and my new blackberry phone. But I think it was pretty worth it. I got to talk with all my friends and we got really close. Getting great technology at first is very exciting and fun!

I've always had a computer more or less since they first became popular. I remember being young and having the old apple computers which every game was that weird floppy disks and it was all I could really do on it. Now I got my first computer which I paid for back in 2004 which I was 15 and it was a Dell and my grandparents got it and I just made monthly payments for it. When I was 14 was when I got a cellphone. It was a basic black and white flip phone and finally when I was 16 I was able to upgrade and get the one I wanted.

Its weird though because my sister got her first cellphone at the age of 13 and then had her own computer - no Internet though which was different for me - at the age of 10. Technology is hitting younger and younger.
