Go to work sick or stay home?  

Unless I cannot get out of bed, I have a fever, or have to make frequent trips to the bathroom, I go to work. I simply cannot afford not to go.

Well for me, it depends on how sick I am. If I'm throwing up or something and can barely stand on my feet then I'd stay home. That's a pretty bad time to go into work. If I just have a cold and feel a tad off then I can take a pain med or something and then I'll be fine then that's what I'll do. I'd rather not go in contagious either cause then I'd be making a lot of people sick and I'd rather not.

Hello, I rarely missed a day of work so I would go to work even being a a little sick. If I could not get out of bed then I would call in sick but that rarely happened.I work out of home now so if I am sick I still do the work only I pace myself so I can rest if I need to.

Hi,i am a blogger and work online.... so no problem.I work from home and yes i work from home even when i am not well.I am very passionate about my work and cannot imagine my life even a day without my laptop by my side.

I'm working in a hospital wherein duty hours is shifting (every 8 hours). We have rules that when a staff is sick, or will be absent that person should notify the immediate supervisor 8-12 hours before that person's schedule duty hours. So that, they can look for replacement or they will reschedule the other 2 on duty to have a 12-hours of duty to replace the said duty time that that person will miss. When that staff is sick, they should have a medical certificate. I dont want to have an absent but there is one time I need to because I'm sick and I cant go to work the following day so I notified my supervisor and ask me to pass a medical certificate and file my absent. That the first time and hoping that it would be my last absent because, NO WORK, NO PAY!!!

I work in the food industry and with the public. If Im sick I will stay home unless its a little cold in which then I wash my hands and cover my mouth when coughing.

I'd call in sick for the following reasons. a. I could get more sick, which may force me to take off for more number of days. b. I could infect other colleagues as well (I had one colleague with mumps and we all had a bout of it). So definitely take an off and be a very good patient taking medicines in time and all the liquids in. :-)

I personally, as long as it isn't something highly contagious have always gone to work. The only other circumstance inwhich I hadn't gone to work was when I had a fainting spell. It made me to nervous to even drive.

i dont work but i never go to college when i am ill because sometimes things become worse

I work from home so unless I'm dying in bed and in the bathroom every five minutes I work whenever possible. When I had a job outside the home then I would not go if I had a fever or was so sick that I would either get others sick or I was too sick to stand up. But then again, I grumble when others come in sick because I don't want to get sick. Go figure.
