Why do some people blame God?  

Yes, you're right. I also blamed God before but I didn't have a relationship with Him that time. Now that I have, I realize God is love and everything that happens has a purpose. Yes, we really need to deepen our relationship with Him in order for us to see the beauty of Him -- all good comes from Him and that God is really sooo good. God bless.

Do you think God sends the bad things our way? No. For example, the death of our loved ones, should we blame it to God? God only works for the good of all those who love Him, those who are called for His purpose. Even death of a family member can bring the members of that family closer together and reconciled unlike when the deceased member was still living, there was family gap.

Yes, like I said, everything happens for a reason. Death is not a bad thing. It is a beginning of a new life for that person.
We who are left behind find it to be a terrible thing a bad thing. But really we are just being egocentric. Because we miss this person in our lives.
When God (or greater life form) finds it is time for someone to die, then it is God who calls this person into a next live. Who are we to judge this and call it bad? God decides when it is time to die. We should accept this as a good thing and move on with our lives.

In this case, God sends things our way, yes. We see it as bad. but it is a normal life thing.
If there is a God, then we are all here for His purpose. Because God is a loving God and Loves everyone regardless. Like when you have children, you always love your children no matter what. Whether they believe you or not.

You yourself are responsible for your happiness and sadness.
Some bad things come your way because it is a lesson.
If you never experience bad things, sad things, you would never understand other people.
I believe we are here to learn. We also learn from our mistakes.
It is easy to blame God or the so called Devil.

When you blame God for the good, you also blame Him for the bad.

Hi! Thanks for that sharing. Let me add more: God "allows" bad things to happen to mold our character to be like Him. I don't blame God for the good nor for the bad now. Happy mylotting.

Let me end it this way. We are taught in childhood that there is God. When our parents go to church we also go there too until we became adult. But this kind of upbringing did not bring us really to a closer and real-time experience with God as a loving Father. But still, we believe there is God and nothing more. We view God as a distant Being that either loves or punishes humans for their mistakes or like a judge. Now, the result is some people blame God because of this thinking. Some people also think God like santa claus or a genie who gives them what they want or like. Therefore, it is not surprising that they blame God when God no longer gives them what they want. But all God wants is to come into people's life if people just invite Him (relationship) thats why He, Himself, revealed His Person through Christ Jesus (the image of invisible God)by coming down from heaven, reaching to us, to change our false views regarding Him and dying in the cross to restore our broken relationship with Him.
After knowing and learning of this truth and experiencing God in my personal life, all my false views regarding Him have changed. I have learned the right key to come closer to God is through "repentance" only and nothing more. After all, it is still God's initiative, I just responded to him through repentance and humility.

Life experiences vary. I am fortunate that I understood God early on in my life. That is a blessing. Some people got to know God after violating the ten commandments, like Augustine. Or even Saul of Damascus. But God works on people according to His plan. These two personages even became two of the most staunch defenders of the faith. And God makes things beautiful in His time.

Truly, God works in different ways and means to call people from all walks of life no matter what their background may be. And you're right, the worst sinner can be the greatest saint in the future if he/she just responds to God's call.

Hi friend. Yes truly, the verse you have posted above perfectly fits in here. God really works for the good of His children. If bad things happen to us, He uses it to mold our character as I have stated above. In the end, we will see God uses the bad things to create good inside us. "Blessing in disguise" as many are saying. God bless too.

Hi Orangejuice. Sometimes, God does not give us what we ask because it is not yet time for Him to answer our prayers. God has a right time and purpose when He answers our prayers. He does not answer yet because He still molds our character to be like Him and to have more faith and confidence in Him as what happened to the two sisters Martha and Mary when their brother Lazarus had gotten sick and eventually died. When Lazarus was still sick Jesus delayed going to their house until Lazarus died. Martha and Mary could have blamed Him. But Jesus knew what He was going to do. He used that circumstance to demonstrate His power and glory. And the end result was Lazarus was raised from the dead and consequently, the sisters faith and even His disciples increased more.
So, don't ever give up praying and trusting God and doing His will for in due season you shall reap the harvest -- the answered prayer. God bless.

And I'm so glad that I'm still here. Actually, I even don't know why I come back because what I pray for, God still doesn't give me. But it's amazing, right? No matter will happen, I think I will try my best to follow God.

When good thing comes to them, they thank Him, yet when bad things happen to them and they don't know what to do, they put the blame on Him! Anyway, as I have said on the beginning of this discussion, I have blamed Him before but it was during those times that I had no personal relationship with God or shall I say, I did not know Him yet intimately and deeply. I think it takes a personal encounter with the living God for us, people, to understand more about HIM AND HIS NATURE. Too bad for the once dedicated Christian you have mentioned about to become atheist. He has probably forgotten what God has done for Him in the past. Maybe he had only "head knowledge" but not experience about God, what do you think?
