Can Anyone Remember Herbie?  | |  Yes, it's that lovable Volkswagen with the No. 53 on its back and front bonnets. But Herbie in Malaysia? I found a car similarly painted to look like Herbie in the back lane near my house one day. That is the snap I took of it.
The Love Bug was a whale of a fun movie in the late 60s.It was such a hilarious movie and we all had our laughs especially as it played tricks on Dean Jones and all the adversaries in the races.Buddy Hackett's role as the mechanic who understands Herbie too well was the punch that made this movie a howling success. Michele Lee added the eye candy. The sequels were not as boisterously funny as it did not have Buddy Hackett ad Michele Lee in it.It was a wonderful movie. Did anyone see it first time or as a rerun?

I have also seen a volkswagon painted like Herbie in the US. I guess it is someone that really liked the movie.

The whole cinema laughed and cheered as Herbie thumps the competitors one by one. You will certainly root for Herbie in the final laps of his races. One rare gem of a movie that is irreplaceable. I'll have to wait until there's a rerun and then see it.
The last car movie I saw that did cool car tricks, mainly awesome stunts is from the movie TRANSPORTER.
