Wow!! This Interest Passed Into Oblivion!!!  |

 Somehow, the back half of the "Oblivion" interest has never had anything posted in it...it was consigned into Oblivion.
To help unobliviate this half of the interest, I am choosing to start this discussion.
I used to journey into Oblivion quite frequently by going to the local hangout after work and drinking myself into oblivion. Many were the times I would wake up the next morning and not realise how I had got home...and occasionally not know the name of the cute number asleep next to me.
Those days are long past, but I still wonder how I managed to make it home so many times without getting run over (I was long past my drinking and driving stage...I was a walker by then).
So I just wonder...did any of you use to drink yourself into Oblivion? And how did you find your way home when you did?

I drank myself into oblivion to sleep. I had (have) some killer nightmares and couldn't sleep. Drinking made it so I could sleep.
I got into trouble trying to wake my tush up to get it to school.

5.  JodiLynn (455) | 4 months ago |  I can't drink myself into oblivion. I've tried. By the 5th drink, I'm barfing, groaning and laying on the bathroom floor (my own). I max out at two drinks in a social setting. I think I have this issue with having control over my control.
does that mean I have controlled control issues? and yet I'll inhale that sweet smelling smoke from time to time, and find that works better than drink. But that's just me:)

Way back when I was young and stupid and careless and invincible there are a few missing hours and maybe days, but the day I found out I was pregnant with my oldest 19 years ago, I became a tad more circumspect in my extra curricular activity choices.
And then there's that whole fear of getting stabbed in the face by a serial killer....gotta stay sharp if you want to avoid that fate...

I have never been able to drink myself into oblivion. I have been fallen down, a whole laundry line full of sheets to the wind, unable to even crawl, praying for everything to stop spinning, drunk - but aware the entire time and afterwards.
That was before I turned 21 at which time I tried again and ended up sick for three days, still totally aware. Tried the following weekend as well thinking it was a fluke but no dice, sick again! It seems I developed a sensitivity to drink and now if I catch a buzz, it's just a few mixed drinks like jack and coke or a margarita. Anything else or if I drink too much, alkohol poisoning takes over and I am sick again!
