i think i am the only one that gets it when they health care bill passes you don't have to take it you can keep what you got the health care plane is mainly for people that don't have it or can't get it, if you already have health care and like it then you can stay with what you have the thing that will change is that you and your drs get to say what treatment is best for you and not a third party . if you call your local rep they can tell you more at least mine does and when people understand it then they want it . highmark wants it to pass , medicare and united health care want it there are a lot more people getting on boared with it.i think its wrong to stop people from getting health care.

If you think that is all there is to it, would you please answer a few questions for me? Why does Obama feel the need to break his own tax pledge (No one making less than $250,000/yr will see a dime's increase in federal taxes)? Why are there continuing education grants for people working for facilities represented by unions, but nothing for people who don't. Why do facilities have to get permission from the "Secretary" to add beds, departments, Operating or exam rooms? If this is supposed to be the "public OPTION" why are there taxes on people who choose not to participate? If this is "health" care reform, why is "medicine" the only health system that is available in it. Does that mean I would still have to carry private insurance if I choose anything other than medical? Will I be allowed to carry both the "Public Option" and a private carrier? EVERY state and territory already have them, so what does the federal government have to do with Do Not Resuscitate orders or Living Wills? Why does it require doctors to report them to the federal government? If this plan is supposed to reduce the cost of medical care, why are their tax increases involved? Why does Obama continue to insist that this is "cost neutral" when every independent organization and the CBO have proven it isn't. If Obama's campaign promise was to provide the same coverage Congress enjoys, why didn't they just write a bill that does that? Why did Obama tell everyone who is against this bill to shut up? Doesn't he respect our freedom of speech? If this is supposed to make sure everyone has access to affordable healthcare, how come it exempts people and leaves others out completely? If abortion on demand won't be covered by the "public option" will people on the "public option" who want abortions have to have private insurance to cover them? Will that be allowed? Are they saying that people on the public option can't have abortions?

if it is saying that it will stop abortions then i am willing to pay more because at least it will stop unborn babies from being killed those questions you will have to ask your local rep like i said i was only giving the info that i know if you want to know more call your local rep and they will tell you.

It HR 3200 actually says nothing about abortion whatsoever. So either Obama is lying when he says that abortions won't be funded by it, or he is lying when he says that they will be allowed. By definition, if something isn't specifically banned, it is allowed.

Is it wrong to stop an out of control government from spending way to much money and having even more control over people's lives than it does now? The bill is poorly written and very vague if it is supposed to do what you suggest it is supposed to do. And do you really believe what your politician is telling you? For example, the bill is very vague about who should be covered. The politicians keep saying that it won't cover illegal immigrants, but they voted down the amendment that would clarify that and enforce verifying eligibility from all applicants. Sounds like they are trying to tell us one thing and give us another. Lastly do you really want to the government to be running your health care if you are one of the people who 'volunteer' to take it? How many car dealerships are dropping out of cash for clunkers because they can't get paid? How many doctors will stop accepting the government health care because they can't get paid?

i hate to bust your bubble but the goverment already does run the health care even privite . right now my husband pays for his health care that only covers him that does not cover his eyes or dentle and pays almost 300.00 a month and they don't even pay for every thing he gets bills all the time from them saying he has to pay this and that i mean come on why pay for all this health care if the health care is not even going to take care of the bills thats a big problem and not just for us , my 7 year old can not get health care right now because one place says he makes to much and another place says he don't make enough and as for me i can't get health care because of medical conditions i am on ssd and they dont even give me health care i have to pay for all my hospital bills the only thing i have is aarp medican plain so the only thing it covers is my pills but i still have to pay a co pay for them so what are people like us supose to do when we can't get health care.

Government doesn't run private health care, they regulate it but they don't run it. I'm not saying we don't need to make changes, I'm just saying this behemoth going through Congress right now isn't the answer. First of all we can require that insurance companies not deny people coverage based on pre-existing conditions. Secondly we can fix Medicare and Medicaid so that it works like it should. Those are two things we CAN do right now that would help you greatly. They would cost a fraction of what the government is wanting to spend. It will also help keep some of this out of control spending under control. You already get bills from the doctor because the insurance company isn't paying. Well the government right now isn't paying the dealerships the money they are expecting, what makes you think they'll pay the doctors what they are expecting?

jonakyl, The other thing I heard today is doctors not accepting Medicare because they pay 25% less than insurance and the paperwork is a nightmare. Also,if you screw up the paperwork, they come to your office and stick a microscope up your a$$.

I believe that every one should have access to good health programs, but they should also take responsibility for their own health too as far as they can, like eating, right watching their weight and exercisiing. I don't like the idea of a government run health care program at all. I don't want them deciding what is the best treatment for me. The government has a bad track record for over spending and not getting the best deals for it's money. Remember the costly toilet seat for the military? They aren't even pay the car dealers for the cash for clunkers as they promised. Any time the government gets involved they make a worse mess of it.

It's a hot button issue. I think some people just run with partial information.I have family with no coverage. The whole thing is frustrating. I think it is wrong in this day that so many go w/o health care coverage.

The problem is you won't be able to keep what you have. DC will decide what is covered. Just look at some of the posts on this site. I agree with you about helping people who can't afford insurance. That's what we need to do. You don't bulldoze your house if your hot water heater breaks down.

good analogy =) I suggested to someone that you don't buy a new car just because the alternator stopped working. You just fix what's broke.

dc will only deside on it if you take there health care not if you don't take it or want to keep your own . they are still working on the bill the rep want to end privite health care the dem don't thats where the problem is comming in . i mean if they can come up with a plain that people can keep there privite health care but lower the cost but get the same things as they are now and give people health care that can't get it what is so wrong with that.
