Is it a gift or curse to be able to see through a person's mind?

It's BOTH Bala!
To use a most apt line from the Spiderman movie of all things, "With great power comes great responsibility!" and this is one imprtant thing to acknowledge if we're ever in a position of being able to read a person's thoughts. We must also be sure to not always take things too literally and consider all influences and other factors, not just the thought itself. Ultimately I would see this ability as a gift, but we must be wise in how we use it and interpret what we gain from it.

Well it is better we need not know about our future, i say because i believe in karma, destiny, one cannot change, so why know that and be happy or panic?
Thanks for this post. God bless you.
Cheers

If you can turn it on and off, and only use it when it is important, it's a benefit, but if it's something that you can not control, and that just pops up for no reason at all, I would see it as a real curse. I know of a lot of people who would take advantage of that situation.

I think that if we received the ability to read others’ minds we would be very surprised and we may even stop caring about what other people think of us because with such a gift we would probably come to the realisation that they seldom do!
A gift is a positive if it used responsibly. If abused it could turn into a curse.

I think it would be both a blessing and a curse
it would all depend on the situation at the moment
it may help communication if you could see into some people minds
but others who are not so nice it may be more of a curse

much as what you said is true in things remaining mysterious and unknown what is more true is everything happens and are as they are for a reason. it is only in the improper use of these situations or circumstances that we wish they aren't the way they're supposed to be

I think it can be a gift to a person in alot of ways. It can save alot of time trying to figure out what a person is thinking. It can also be a curse to a person also, always knowing what they are thinking or what is on their mind instead of it being a suprise at times.

Hi Bala,
Do you think that we can go through the other person’s mind (I exempted for those who are trained in psychology). I don’t think so and the human mind is the most mysterious one nobody can guess or know what is going on inside. If anybody can go through it, then it will be a gift.

Some things are better left unknown but when we have doubts and suspicions it would be great to be able to read the mind and confirm or deny them.

Hi Bala, there are things that are better left alone and kept a mystery, yet there are a lot of people who do have the gift of reading your mind that is a deep subject. Yet there are so many things in this beautiful wotld/planet that are a mystery and never will be known about, yet those things that we have found that we never knew about sometimes should of been left alone, some they are so wondrous it is better to know more about it/them....LoLo

If we were all open to one anothers' minds would the world be a better place, I wonder? If you couldn't plan anything bad without getting caught and straightened out, it could solve a lot of our problems. But if it were only certain individuals who had the ability and nobody knew they had it? Oh the potential for abuse...

It would be a curse in a large room full of people. It would be a gift when trying to find your true love. It would have been a big help when I tutored people one-on-one or when I worked in a prison (but some of those men would be thinking about raping me and torturing me so that would be very upsetting and there would be no way to get them out of my class because you have to wait for the person to do something so you can write them up). There was a movie in which a guy could read minds. It was a comedy, but it was good.

Once upon a time I thought I'd love to be able to read people's minds. Since then I've changed that desire. I'd rather not know what someone is thinking about me, as I would rather others not know what I'm thinking about them. I agree that some things like that remain mysterious and unknown. That way everybody's happy

It is a gift in itself but of course like what Spider Man said, great gifts come with great responsibilities. It is a gift because it is given to that person specifically. Not all people can have that ability or gift. When used appropriately it can help catching evil doers in the sense of the comic book logic. Also, some information acquired through this gift can help you know about what makes a particular person happy and if willing and within your capabilities, you can give that to that person, be it a puppy dog, or a phone call from Mom.
However, it is a curse because one might not like what the other is thinking or would rather not know about. As humans, we are bound to make mistakes or keep secrets to ourselves. Sometimes we even have secrets that we do not know about. Its also kinda unfair that the person you're talking to already knows your train of thoughts but you wouldnt know what he or she might be thinking.
Yes, I do think that there are things better left unsaid, better left undiscovered.

According to me it will be a curse as in recent times people have become more negative,. They can,t see good qualities but bad qualities are projected much faster so if u read somebody,s mind u will be end up in a depression at last.
