Posting on mylot using a mobile phone!

Where I am, there are hotspots where you can logon to for free.
The other is the huge data plans that comes with the handsets you purchase that you can use while on the move.

I am starting to like mobile surfing more and more each day.
And with speeds increasing, and price plan going cheaper due to competition between the telco service providers, it is getting easier to go online from the handset!

It could also be your handset.
Internet sites these days have a lot of scripts embedded in them.
And if your handset is using a browser that does not support scripts, you are pretty limited in your surfing experience on the handsets.

If you are using the newer 3G or 3.5G handsets, the browser that came with the handset is pretty good at handling scripts in websites.

Otherwise, you can consider downloading and installing 3rd party browsers for your handset.

And the best part of it is, you can just log on to hotspots that are available. And it is all free. At least, in my part of town, it is!

And with a large screen and a qwerty keyboard, it is just sweet!
Now, whenever I got a long period of waiting time, I know just what to do to fill in the gap.

That's right.Just be careful of viruses spreading around from Wifi hotspots; there tend to be some around. I agree it's awesome..

if you are using a laptop, yes, that is something one has to be careful of.
Using a mobile phone, it is less prone to such attacks.
But caution is still key to protecting yourself when using public domain to surf the web.

That's so true.. there are dangers to the network lurking there..

I used to have qwerty keyboard on the older model phone I used.
But that one really requires petite fingers to hammer out any messages.

It is the newer models that offer wider spaced qwerty that makes posting discussions a breeze.
I sure hope my post rate will increase now that I found I can type so much faster on the new handphone I am using!

GOod for u!! I have tried using a blackberry for mylotting, but i gave up, before i can even finish one sentence!! haha=D The keys are way tooooo Smalllllll for my thumbs and fingers to really type!! lol=D For every few characters typed, i will have to delete a few others as well.. lol=D

Yeah, depending on the model of blackberry, it could be a pain to type out any messages on them.

The Nokia E71 is quite good for typing.
The iPhone is just sweet due to the intuitive spelling replacements for wrongly typed words.
The HTC is another that is worth looking at.

YEah, HTC is becoming more popular now as compare to the past, and they really win hands down, as compared to certain nokia phones.. haha=D However, iphone is not that good and comfortable for me either, due to the same problem as blackberry.. haha=D

Yeah... and when I found out that I can hammer out a discussion within 10 mins on my handphone, I was amazed.
Cost with the older models, I usually take half an hour or more.
And by the time I am finished, I am exhausted.

If the discussion is posted, it is still okay. It is when the posting encounter errors, that you will cry. Cos all that effort in he past half hour would have been wasted. That is why, previously, I am not keen to post via my handphone.

Now, I found a new love in my handphone! And boy am I gonna have a whale of a time using it too!

Yeah... exactly what I did. I was waiting for the seminar to start. Due to a delay, I had half an hour on my hand.
Then I tried posting cos I got nothing else to do.

Boy, was I amazed at the intuitive responses of the iphone qwerty when I was typing out my postings.
It was a fantastic discovery!

And I just cannot stop!

The sweet thing is, I can post whenever I have a thought about a topic that is worth discussing. No need to wait till I get home to a computer!

If carrying around a device that is internet capable is a form of addiction, then I can be considered as one of those addicts you mentioned.

I guess with so much technology around, it is only natural that you will want to use it whenever you are free.
And trust me, in today's world, there are lots of waiting to be done.
From waiting for the bus, to waiting to be served, to waiting to withdraw money from the cash machine... the list is endless.
And with the opportunity to post on mylot to make productive use of those waiting times, it is just too sweet a deal to give up on.
