| Baby Monitors  | | | |  Baby Monitors are a good idea I think especially if you have to absoutely be out of the room for just a few mintues its a good way to keep an ear open for the baby. With my other 4 kids when they were babies I had one but there were a couple that werent so good. I guess it's like everything else it all depends on what you get, I know things have changed since then my youngest is 5 besides our 1 month old, I was thinking about getting one for her Im sure within 5 years they have probably changed alot. So my question is has anyone gotten one recently, and if so I am what changes has been made them since 5 years ago?

| |  I guess gone are the old days when "baby monitor" meant that you kept the baby near you and watched it every second. I think it's good that moms can have a little more freedom to do things now.
Baby monitors are also a great solution if you're trying to communicate with extraterrestrials...I don't think I'll ever look at one again without thinking of "Signs".
A girl in a class I just took told me that her parents often play World of Warcraft in separate rooms of the house, and they use baby monitors to communicate with each other while they're playing. Apparently, their neighbor's baby monitor picks up their signal sometimes. That poor kid.

| | OMG, LOL that is hiralous I can just imagine what that poor kid must have thought LOL. Poor thing. Yeah the main reason I use them is for at night when their a sleep and plus I am going to be going back to work and my husband doesnt smoke in the house so that way when Im at work if he goes outside to smoke he can still hear for the baby. | |  Technology is changing all the time so I recommend investing in a new one. I bought one two years ago that works great. It has a super long range and sounds crystal clear. They make new monitors with video screens now. It has a camera you set up in the baby's room and you are able to watch them from the screen, not just listen to them. It's all pretty neat stuff.

| |  My Mom has several baby monitors in the house but their for my Grandma not a baby. My Grandma is bed bound so it's necessary that my Mom is able to hear her in any room. It's also useful for when certain family members show up and try to quietly get money out of her. LOL
