Does It Trouble You When Friendship Is Rejected?

If you were to get a rejection from a MyLot person, please! don't take that as a personal rejection regardless of your profile or postings. You must keep in mind these people do not know you on a personal, face-to-face basis. I believe that many people request the 'friends' simply because they either are very interested in the discussion or are looking to add as many people as they can to their 'friends' profile in order to earn more? Remember, many people are simply in this network to make money, however many others such as you and I are simply in it to get answers, give our opinions, or seek out and get opinions to see how we resemble or differ from others. If I ask for a friend on myLot and they reject me, I let it go. They have their reasons and that's OK with me. I have never turned down a friendship request or deleted them as friends however because I believe that we can learn from other and give advice to others that may be valuable to them. In Zen practice, it is said that the master and the student often changes places.

If someone posts something nasty - as has happened on another chat site a couple of years ago - I would be lying if I said that it wouldn't effect me. But I would have to look inside myself and discover how I had become hooked by that person. I would ask what I had done to merit their harsh words and try and sort it out, but if there was no rhyme nor reason for it, then I would just work on my mind and move on.

I think it is a wise thing to share any grievances, because when you can share something, you can transcend it and learn more about how your conditioning has been "wired up" in the mind. We learn by sharing. It is in this way that by giving, we receive. - Derek

As far as I'm remember I never reject the friendship request, but i do have several that I put on pending for some reason. But i did deleted some people on my friends list, the reason because they are no longer here. When click their profile, the page won't even found. So I assume it's okay to delete them since their profile not there anymore also.
I'm not worry if my request being rejected. Believe me I already have so much stuff that I worry more in this life..LOL...So, i try not to sweat the small stuff.

I believe online friendship is a bit impersonal so its really not a big deal if you are being rejected by someone. But the other way around, friendship in the real world is just come and go, some friends are just there when they need you and they leave once they find other people that they need. A true friend is really hard to find, more like a brother or sister that will never let you down and provide good advice that is not not always pleasant to the ears but says whats the truth.

I also never reject any friend request, because every request you accept is an oportunity to make a new possible friend. I love your posts, Wolfie, and I'm very glad you accepted me.^^

But of course, there's no way to always check on every friend's discussions. There is just no time ebough. I love here on MyLot but I'm in vacation. When I go back at college, it'll be kida harder to participate. But let's see.

ofcourse i do feel very bad when my friendship is rejected on some wrong notes, but if the person is not genuinely intrested to be my friend then i never force her/him to be my friend, but if the person wants to be my friend but is shy or is rejecting me due to some wrong information then definetly i am going to feel sad because theres some wrong impression about me.

Wolfie just do what I do, offer friendship if it is rejected then it is their loss.I am a nice person and if they want to miss out on that,like I say it is their loss.

Hi there bro! When I first joined Mylot, I didn't hesitate at all. I felt so friendly that I thought everyone else must be as friendly too. Slowly I have learnt that some people have prerequisite to who they accept and who they don't. I don't think I do feel rejected because I'm assuming that they have just ignored my request as perhaps I haven't had enough activity here as yet.

If a friendship was to be declined then no, I wouldn't try again. I would leave them be.

I do feel alittle guilty if I reject someone on mylot, because I do like to show GOOD WILL so it can be abit uncomfortable.

It does not bother me, and that is because I think it is better to have the honesty than have someone lie when they have no intentions of responding and have no interest in your discussions. I have braod shoulders and I can take it lol...I have many good friends and I would continue to enjoy them. Life is too short to just focus on the negative.

I still feel a bit mean if I reject a friendship but it's usually because I've checked the profile and found we'd probably have nothing in common.
I don't know if I've had any friendship offers rejected but I'm old enough now to know it's their loss, not mine. There's nothing like modesty is there? And that was nothing like modesty.
Don't take it personally if you're rejected it may be because they don't understand some of your discussions. You can be very 'deep' at times.
That's not a criticism, just a fact and some of your discussions take some thinking about.
