How long you want to live?  |

 Most of us want to stay young and healthy for as long as we live. We even rarely entertained the thoughts of seeing ourselves old and dying. We all want to live forever.
As for me, I want to live for 100 more years. Because there's so many things that I want to do. So many places I would like to see and most of all I want to spend more time with my family.
How about you, would you like to live longer? If you do, for how many years and why?

 careguarden (493) | 5 months ago | Yeah, there might be a real good chance that people can live up to 100 years, but there's also lot of chances that people can't reach 100 years. What I am really trying to asked is peoples preferences on how long they want to live, on how long they think that's enough for them to be satisfied living in this life, on how long they can say it's enough,I want to rest and be happy for eternity.

| 5. levite (477) | 5 months ago |  I don't want to live for 100 years because I see some people being neglected when reaching even in the 70's or 80's. No one cares for them, some of them begs in the streets having abandoned by their families and children. Some of them luckily find shelter homes to be taken cared of by nurses and other people. My friend and I have encountered an old woman in her 70's being accompanied by a stranger. We talked to the woman and gave her food. She was resetful of her children who went abroad but neglected her. How pitiful!:(. She had a hunchback. We brought her to the police station together with two jollibee personnels because the social welfare shelter home was already closed at that time. She stayed there for one night. Fortunately, the next day, a member of her church looked for her and found her there and brought her home.
I think how we live our life on earth is more important than the longetivity of our life. Many people wish for a long life but don't live their lives to the fullest and were trapped in different vices that shorten their life span. What does it profit me if I want a long life but don't care of living a good and well-lived life? I think living a legacy is what matters most in life. What will my loved ones tell me when I die?

| careguarden (493) | 5 months ago | Yeah, that's real sad reality nowadays. So many people left abandoned by their family and neglected by the society. Sometimes we often thought that life is unfair for them. But everything has a reasons and we simply didn't know.
Yeah, I agree with you. It's not the the number of years would matter, it's how you used and spend those years. But if one choose to live longer simply because he/she want to help and continue to bring kindness and love to everyone despite of the rampant cruelty of this world, then I think he/she deserve to live forever. This world needs people who are willing to give their self for the sake of humanity.
I would rather witness and feel the pain of other people for them to know that they're not alone. And that there's still someone who cares and love them no matter what.

If the person who wants to live longer wants to spread and share acts of goodness and kindness for others, then that person really deserves to live a long life. Usually in the funeral, people talk about the dead person's life when he was still alive. | |

If for some reason I can no longer drive then I do not want to live and have to pay cabs to take me to the stores etc.

But I think as long as we breath we still have a reason to live and opportunity to do things that matter in our life. My mom always told me to never give up and and always find the reasons for living.

We all have the freedom to choose the quality of life we want. There's so many ways to stay healthy in mind and body. We can choose to stay happy or sad. It's all our choice the only thing that we must not forget is to never give up for life. Never give in on time that we're being test to choose to live or die. Always LIVE FOR LIFE

| 9. dlr297 (2795) | 5 months ago |  It is amazing how people think differently about age, when i was in high school thinking if i lived to 50 or 60 i would be so old. but now that i am all ready past 50, I do not feel that old most of the time. and at the moment i feel that I want to live for another 50 or 60 years or more as long as i can stay active, and healthy. I would love to be around to watch my grandchildren grow, and i would also like to see my great-grandchildren start their lives, and grow.

It would be great if you'd able to watch your grandchildren grow and succeed in their life. It's wonderful to share your life experiences with them and taught them things that you'd learned.
Even if we're given a thousand years, I think it's still not enough, 'cause we love to live a life that's full of love and happiness. Since other life after death is not yet certain.

| 10. diwakarraghavan (62) | 5 months ago | well to say the least it is tough after a certain age... for us and for people around us... i want to be alive for as long as i am healthy .. i dont want to lie on a bed and not be able to control my bowel movements and depend on somebody else for eating and other functions...the thing is not that it is pain in the rear for me but it will be as much so for whoever is taking care of me... it is a disgrace to be alive during such a time.. i will even resort to euthanasia if that is going to be of any help.. in what i have seen in my life even the healthiest of people go bad at around eighty years. so for me it is seventy years of bliss.. but i want to enjoy those fifteen years of retirement! | |

I would rather take care of them. That's why If, I'd given a chance to live for a longer time, I would only live in one condition, that my mind and body still working and healthy.
