National Flowers.  | |  Every country has its national flower. It's the sakura in Japan and the plum blossoms for China.In Malaysia, we have that beautiful red flower called the hibiscus. We fondly called it the bunga raya in the national language.The bunga raya that is recognized as the national flower comes in a red hue. We have other colours for hibiscuses but they are not used in our national coats of arm. What is your country's national flower?

The lotus symbolises purity, as it grows in marshy waters yet retains its beauty and is untouches by the impurities surrounding it.

The lotus flower is very much revered here in Malaysia too. Chinese love to eat lotus roots and the lotus flower is associated with Buddha. Interestingly, have you read the Lotus Eaters? Seaman on Ulysses' journey back to his home state ofter the wars with Troy, stopped at an island and ate lotus roots and became too lazy to work ever.Fancy that! | |
