Hi mylotters! happy I want to ask you if you have a website or domain name for yourself "not a blog", a domain that ends with .com or .net or anything. What is it about and how much do you pay each year? Do you think a website is better than a blog or not?

If you do not have a domain for yourself then check my profile you will see a link under my profile picture, click on "my website" or click on the small photo on my profile. There you are a bit confused.

A blog IS a web site. It can be by itself, under a domain name (paid domain, require also a hosting service - such as www.thisblog.com),, under a subdomain of a bigger blogs-for-free website (like blogspot, blogger, wordpress and so on - such as thisblog.wordpress.com) or as part of a bigger complex website (paid domain, require also a hosting service - such as www.mydomain.com/blog)

I have register in cocc, that's right in cocc is free to sign up but i hear that only 1 years after that you must pay for that domain.

if I have to pay for that domain, better i choose domain .com, .net, etc

I do have a websites. I also know about the "co.cc" domains. They offer a very good service to all and the best part is that its FREE. I also have an account in this site. And like you I too have the links in my profile along with other money making site.

Thanks for the information though. There are many users who don't know about this "co.cc" service.

Yes, I do have two websites: team-mylot.com, and affiliate-borrower.net. I pay at least $25 per year. I think that it is better to have your own paid website, with your own domain name than having a free website or blog. There are a lot of advantages. With so many hosting companies, some good companies offer free hosting and that makes it great for publishers or website owners. happy

Hello silverstone131, thanks for the post. Having my own website was always a desire that I pursued. But it didn't materialized till the time I came across co.cc and Joomla! Now I'm building my own website with Joomla! under the domain name provided by co.cc and hosting by freehostia.com.

Having a website is far more advantageous than that of a blog just due to the variety of features that we can use. And when it comes to FREE website (domain name+hosting), it's really a great experience!

I made a website with yola.com they allow you to create edit html all the good stuff and they will also host it for free for example my site is amazingadvertising.yolasite.com they are by far one of the best out there today!

really. is it plain site or it has a advertising on it. I do have a website lately with no advertising at all. And made it on a front page with flash animation in it.. I did use it on Google adsense and raise some $160
