What is Shareapic?

Shareapic is temporarily ceasing the issuing of payments to members in order to pool money to fight a pending lawsuit. Members will still accrue their image view & referral earnings as usual, however payments will be put on hold until further notice.

First of all, we would like to thank all the users who have chosen us as their primary picture host. Whether you have recently joined the site, or been with us for a number of years, we sincerely appreciate your patronage and hope that you will continue to support us as we fight to keep the site alive and growing as always.

Over the past few years, Shareapic has made every effort to protect the owners of copyrighted pictures that get uploaded in the normal course of operations. We have always substantially complied with the DMCA and removed galleries containing copyrighted pictures upon receiving adequate notice of their existence. However, a plaintiff has chosen to file what we firmly believe to be unreasonable lawsuit against Shareapic, making allegations that we have violated his copyrights, even though we took every reasonable step we could to remove his pictures from our servers as required by law. Accordingly, our legal bills are piling up as we have chosen to fight for our rights, and for our users' rights.

Because of the legal fees that Shareapic must pay to keep fighting to stay up and running, we have no choice but to pause user payments until we can afford to make them again. We at Shareapic have also chosen to forego our salary checks in order to donate them to the legal battle. We ask that you please continue to use Shareapic as usual during this time and help us fight this battle by understanding that this pause in payments is not permanent, and that your backlogged payments will be paid as soon as the battle comes to an end.

If you wish to help the cause by donating your requested payouts or future payouts to help us pay legal bills, we will be implementing a way for you to do so on the payments page. This is not mandatory, but would be sincerely appreciated.

Ultimately, our goal is to continue business as usual, to resume making payments as we always have, and to continue to allow all of our users to earn money online legally and ethically from sharing their pictures. We hope that you support our decision to fight for Shareapic. If we did not choose to fight, we would ALL lose a website that has grown to be a valuable community to over 250,000 users.
