I want a home!!!!!

Wow, I had a disturbing dream last night. I don't think a dream has affected me this much since I was a child. I have this recurring dream about moving. I've had it ever since we bought our first house. And I have it a lot every time we move. I dream that we move more than once, that we're between homes living with my parents, that we're between homes living in apartments, that we're waiting to get a place that will be permanent. I've had this dream around my first home, my second home and the home I live in now. The first two homes were in Southern California and this one is in Northern California. Last night I had the dream again, this time back in Southern California. First I dreamed that we were visiting people and that the house was one that we had previously owned (in a dream only). Then I dreamed that we were back on the street where my parent's first house was and where we had also owned a house (again, dream only). We wanted to buy a house there again, I think. Well I took off walking down the street to see if some friend's of my parents (or maybe it was relatives, this is all muddled) were still living there. But nothing on the street was the way I expected it to be. I started crying and then screaming, "I want a home" over and over again. That's when I woke up. Spooky. Funny thing is, I felt at home in my first two houses and I can't say I totally feel at home in this one...

I see that Irish has shared a dream interpretation site link and that you've uncovered some base explanations already..... What I'd like to focus in on though is the part in your dreams where you're looking at houses that you once owned, yet other things such as the street are different. In situations like this, it can possibly represent a desire for things to be how they once were; but the fact that things outside of these houses are different is also an acknowledgement that what's done is done and the way for you is forward not backwards. Relatives and friends are still there, so there's subconscious comfort in knowing that if it comes to the crunch, there's support, but the true path is not with them, it's centred around new beginnings and direction. (Which ties in with some of the other references you found) That's my take on it anyway!

It shouldn't take a wizz bang dream person to tell you what that is all about. You just haven't settled in to your new place. Give it some time and if it doesn't seem right look around to see what you can do about it. I am lucky, I don't get attached to houses, I have lived in many and it didn't seem to make much difference which one I was in. The one I live in now is a mobile home and it's about the worse one we've had. We lived in some pretty nice homes in the past. But it doesn't seem to affect my quality of life. I am not really a things person.

Hi Dawnald, Maybe you are hankering of your past home and you are sort of being home sick, also you were happy there too, or maybe you are going to be moving to a house that you will love. that used to happen to me a lot, I used to dream about my childhood home and for many years I used to have the same dream, then one day I joined a website and was telling somefrom from there of my home town, she found it and sent me some phots of the town which I have not seen for over 40 years, since then I have not had the dream, strange. hi dawnald me too. seriously I dreamed this morning that my mom came in to this house that I thought was mine, and she brought a whole slew of people I did not know with her. I had a pot of beef stew on the stove just on low heat. she kept talking with these people about her house and I keep saying no this is my house. the dream house i has never seen before, then these strange people say something nasty about my house and i am really angry.but my mom turns out to be a lady who used to live here at GoldCrest but she would never have acted like this bit$# in my dream.then I am taken on a trip outside my house and there are all sorts of shops and interesting sights that I thought I had never seen before outside my house.Myfalse mother kept saying its not your house.well on this trip I lost track of the person I thought was my mother and now I was trying to get a taxi to take me back to my house where the stew was stillcooking.and all I could find was these weird shops where the sign says all the booze you can drink plus our cab service.and I hurried over to the cab driver and he was drunk.he says you dona buya my booze i don drive you anyplace.oh my I was crying and the alarm went off and the inter com yelled mrs hatley you all right good morning y ou all right.I woke up and said yeah just a bad dream was all. iwas crying that too was my house. the guy on the intercom said are you sure youre all right.I satup then and said oh I am awake, just had a verybad dream. I staggered over and swore at the aLarm then shut the screaming thing off.

Oh dear, you really yelled? I'm pretty sure I didn't or somebody would have heard. Well any way maybe it means something good for you...

maybe it the dream is telling you that you are not happy with your current situation, and you want to move again to a better home. you might be missing the past and the good old days, and you need to concentrate on the present, and trying to make it better instead of wanting the past to be your present again. maybe it is also saying that everything changes in time, and you need to move on and adapt with these changes in order to make your current situation better, without comparing it to the happier times in the past and your old homes.

Ah well I am NOT happy with my current situation, so that part is obvious to me. Could be I'm also homesick. Or just afraid to move forward...

Oh wow thanks for sharing, Don't you love it when you have those kinds of dreams that really stand out in your mind. I had one myself last night and I'll tell you about it later. Anyhow it seems that with your dream it's like you really want a place where you can call home. It's your subconscious mind's way of saying you are feeling some unrest in this area. The good thing is that you can always strive to make it happen. Thanks for posting this my friend. Have a happy day. I'm outta here. Peace!

Trying to reveal what dreams mean have always fascinated me. In my opinion your dream may have nothing to do with your home or living situation at all. The home in your dream could represent something perhaps major in your life. And maybe you have a fear of losing whatever that something may be. Fear of losing, abandonment, maybe you have let yourself down. I have learned that you should try to understand what your dreams represent. You should try searching dream interpretations. There are some interesting ideas about just about any dream you could imagine. I hope I have helped in some way. Hope you figure it out. Good luck.
