I'm the one that is home with them all of the time, but I am also the more easy-going of the two of us. I discipline the kids by sending them to their rooms but I always try not to raise my voice at them. My husband has that authoritarion tone of voice with the kids so that when he speaks they listen. They rarely misbehave when he is home, but in the case of my daughter she will try to back talk me all the time when her dad isn't home.
