Traveling Down Under  | |  Are you a recent traveller to Australia from the United States or other western country? I have spent the last few weeks in Queensland, Australia and I normally reside in the midwest of the United States. I have been very suprised to see how the stress level of America and especially the recent financial stress that has seemed to be most serious in the United States does not seem to be affecting the land down under. Do you think this is because the economy has not been so hard hit or is it from the "no worries" attitude here?

In fact I heard that we are in for another interest rate hike tomorrow like we can afford it. Many major companies have gone bust and a lot of people have been put out of work (I am one.) But that is what I love about my country no matter the hardships we face, we do it head on with a great big smile.
And curious to know where did you visit? I live in Townsville in tropical north queensland.
