everything but the kitchen sink |

OMG i am shocked, i have just had a "clear out" in my hand bag, well not so much ahnadbag, more of a rucksack to be precise, and when i emptied it, this is what i found...jeez i didn't realise i had so much junk in the till today...i found
2 sets of keys, one of which i have no clue about tissues (lots of them) my inhaler which i lost ages ago lip gloss, 4 of them mascara an old watch that i should have had repaired many years ago a gold filling from my back tooth, still in a little box gloves scarf umbrella nasal spray papers and documents my old cell fone that i thought i'd lost, so i got a new one...lol... 3 tampons (incase of any little accidents) a hairbrush and 2 hairbands toothbrush....no idea why that was in there mouth spray something gooey at the bottom, no idea what that is....yuk cigarettes lighter a bracelet earrings 1 pair of panties (incase of any little accidents) a small road map train tickets a small face sponge face wipes deodorant wipes perfume my wallet plus moths...lol...
in the zip part at the side of the bag i found
a magazine dated january 2007 16 elastic bands safety pins, 11 of them business cards with my old number on chewing gum which must be older than me 3 envolopes with my sons hair in from when they were babies...aaaah.... the umbilicle clamps and wrist bands from when they were born various papers and birth certificates and much more junk that i didn't know i had
shock shock shock.. ..i didn't realise that i carried so much junk around with me, i hardly ever use that stuff but it's been in my bag for years....now it's clean and tidy and feels much lighter
so ladies, what do you carry in your bag, do you have an array of junk like me? how often do you have a clear out? i can say that i had everything in there but the kitchen sink....i am shocked.....

2. ElicBxn (15126) | 4 months ago | gee, for some reason I don't carry a purse... you think it might be my SHOULDER SURGERY? I do have my cell phone pouch, in it I have a few pens, my phone, my reading glasses and some of my cards - debit, driver's license, insurance, things I might need... and I don't have to transfer from my shorts pocket to my jeans - they will probably go back in the jeans after I can start wearing them again full time

3. dragon54u (9461) | 4 months ago | I keep mine to a minimum. When my kids were little, my purse was like yours! Now I have:
Chapstick nail clippers pen credit/debit cards insurance cards a small notebook a pocketknife
In the zippered pockets I have:
2 moist wipes safety pins/paper clips my cash
My purse is very light, I only carry what I absolutely need or might need in an emergency.

4. lovinangelsinstead21 (364) | 4 months ago | Hi tattylashes,
Mine not as bad as that it gets a clear out every six weeks. I love my handbags, well at the moment I´ve only got one handbag and it´s quite tatty too but nice and tidy inside lol just for a change I might say. Handbag fashion is one of the things I like to go window shopping for. I used to buy big handbags and loads of zips on and stuck all the junk in there but now I have made a resolution to be a bit more tidy.

tattylashes (4295) | 4 months ago | i like to buy handbags but i like the vintage ones, i have alot of them, but the main one i use is the one i carry everything around with me, it is now nice and clean again, not like it was before.

7. drannhh (7339) | 4 months ago | For maybe 20 years I had not been carrying a handbag, which forced me to just say no to people who wanted me to carry their stuff. It is an old story with husbands--they love to ridicule women for the size and contents of their handbags, but most of them are quick to say "Oh, honey, just stick this in your handbag for me will you?" or if we are out somewhere it is just expected that we have all their possible little necessities on board. So One Time a certain guy didn't want to hold something for me while I dug into the bag and instead of grimacing and putting up with it, I said "This is enough!" and got clothes with just enough pockets for me to carry my own stuff, and only that which was absolutely necessary.
That is when I noticed that for ten years thereafter, all sorts of men were taking it upon themselves to admonish me that I wasn't properly caring for my handbag. I would look them up and down icily and inform them "I don't own a handbag." Imagine this: you get up from your seat at a restaurant and the stranger at the next table yells, "Lady, don't forget your handbag!" But if one has an infant in tow or is caring for an invalid, that is another matter. Then one needs adequate baggage.
It was heavenly not to carry anything with a strap.

tattylashes (4295) | 4 months ago | i get this all the time drannhh, put this in your bag, put that in your bag, when i go out, i take a small hand cluth bag that is only big enough for my phone, keys and lipstick, oh and some money, nothing else will fit in it, but when i use the other bag, everyone wants me to put their stuff in it.

8. p1kef1sh (5630) | 4 months ago | I am quite sure that we are married Tatty! The Boss has so many handbags that are stuffed with stuff. You didn't mention mail. If we are looking for a bank statement or a letter from someone chances are that it is in her bag. Of course men aren't that much better. We just distribute our rubbish amongst our pockets otherwise we'd walk lopsided! Now, have you got my spectacle case and those are your panties aren't they? Not mine. I'm always losing them! LOL.

tattylashes (4295) | 4 months ago | oh i do have all my dicuments in a side pocket p1ke, all my bills and hospital appts and all that, i always keep them dicuments with me just incase i need them, i even have all the letters from the vet and other places that i have had to attend....them panties are mine, i always carry them with me just incase of a little accident....also panty liners for the same reason.
