ARGUMENTS....Are you any GOOD at them? |
|
As we travel through life we are going to have them no matter what we do... ARGUMENTS.
Now these things can be easy or they can be a hard thing to deal with.
I never in an argument try to have the last word, but what I try to do is to state something the other person that they will remember for a long time to come.
I find when the other person is yelling their head off that is the time to be very calm and state something very quietly with lots of meaning to them and then walk away.
Don't look back and don't let yourself come back for another word.
I don't do to bad in an argument, even when I loose I win (well I feel that way)
How do you fair in your arguments, do you loose it all or are you calm, Do you rattle on about nothing and later think "I should have said this and that" at the time of the argument.
Do you have it out and that's it or do you hold a grudge where some where in time you will get even?

2. jonjee0203 (1648) | 4 months ago | Do not argue with someone who is emotional. Do not argue with someone who is known for not being a sporting person-meaning he is a bad loser. You can only argue forth your points when the other party is calm and collected and ready to listen to your viewpoints which may differ from his. Do not argue with an immature person. Most of all,do not get into an argument with a violent person. He may just beat you up physically.

3. ElicBxn (15173) | 4 months ago | On the whole, I try to avoid them, when I do get into one, I will try to only resort to screaming to make a point, the the point where I scream, I leave

4. dawnald (9538) | 4 months ago | I tend to clam up and not say what I'm thinking, or not think what I really needed to say until later. But I am also one who states things calmly and tries to be logical about things. I'm not a yeller unless somebody really gets to me...

6. mtdewgurl74 (10309) | 4 months ago | I usually say what I need to and then hole up in another room. Doesn't make for a long argument but We gotta let others know what we won't do or take. I don't stay mad for long though it blows over faster more times then not.

And all feel better, but then there is times when others should feel some pain in your discomfort.

7. rosepedal64 (1331) | 4 months ago | I don't have that many arguments with people. I guess most of my arguments are with the hubby. Now when comes to those I usually argue to make a point. I will have to say that most arguments are because he hasn't done something. I also dont always have the last word. I think he likes to have the last word. I have to let him think that he has won the argument. HHAAHA

hiccup (6447) | 4 months ago | If you have made a good point there is no need for that lasy word, as the other will refer to what you said over and over,
They say the last word but it is your words they are saying.
Thats the time to walk away. HA HA HA.

8. krajibg (2504) | 4 months ago | No Hiccups, this would not do. Have you imagined all Ganghi? I would rather argue with valid points until I can establish that what I have learnt and know is the right thing.
All are not same your walking away might not have any effect on one who is beyond humanity. What would you do with him?
| |
| |
|
|
hiccup (6447) | 4 months ago | To continue the valid point over and over will weaken the power of it. Say it three time and move on.
The power of the statement will last that way,

krajibg (2504) | 4 months ago | This is indeed good idea. But as I said might not work on all people equally. Some are there who do not understand valid argument and you are desperate to make him do. What measure would you take then?

10. vandana7 (1391) | 4 months ago | Hi hiccup - one thing nice about virtual friends is they cannot ruin ur social life in real life so u can afford to be as honest as u want to be:-) So u c I am going to be honest. I do argue. I do make a point as u said - most of the time. Ratio would be 90 times, 10 times no. The 10 times I side the wrong knowing fully well I am wrong is when I dont like the person opposite me.:-) And this is as honest as it can get. Dont ask me whom I dont like. I do have a few friends in ur country who have friends back home. So I wont take that risk.:-)

vandana7 (1391) | 4 months ago | And oh! I forgot to add - I am good at it. I could give u reasons to both sides of the argument in very convincing way, u would feel ur reasons are no good.:-)

vandana7 (1391) | 4 months ago | Hey - I told u - at times I do take a stand for wrong. There are times, I think I give up when I am likely to lose a friend, even though I might be right. Friends and immediate family are of a great value to me. I dont c any point in winning an argument and being in pain over losing them or making them feel bad.
