I always like to pick a nice card out too. I think it adds that special touch to the act of giving the present. I usually do like to take some time out to choose a card which is appropriate to the occassion and the person that I am buying the present for.

I love giving and receiving greeting cards, but it's becoming more and more rare. With the Internet, people are always sending electronic (e-cards) instead of the real thing. That is not a good thing about technology. We still need that human touch, the personal handwritten message in a card from our friends, family, and loved ones.

hi dear, you are a little sensitive person, :-) i was also like you , just like but before, i mean before my marriage, but i changed a lot after that. now i think it is good that technology has advanced and we can send e-carddds and e-mails and sms to convey are greetings and wishes to our near and dear ones. now after having a child it seems like impossible at time to get out time for anything, so it is good for me that i can send an e-card or e-mail to wish and before everything a small sms.

before , when i was in my school, i used to give greeting cards to my friends and got many in return too but now i prefer gifts more than cards. Cards have become so expensive that its better to give a gift by adding alittle aount to the money used for card.

hi coolcat, thanks for the response. i agree with you, it is true that cards are very expensive now a days but then sending an e-card to everyone is alos not possible. now i have stopped sending cards to my mom and dad , i feel i better invest in some nice beautiful gift. card are now too expensive. gift is of more value.

not really. i just give my greetings and that is all . usually i go to the occasion or party if there is one just to show my greetings and support. i find it weird to give cards now since i don't see many people are doing that right now.

Hi aweins,
I never used to be much of a card giver until a few years ago when I discovered that they could convey so much meaning on my behalf. I especially became fond of picking cards for my parents, and in particular my mother. I would always search until I found one that spoke to my heart, and would then be nervous to know what she thought of it, and if it connected with her on the same level as it connected with me. I love the look on my parent's faces when they like the cards and tend to not care so much about presents afterwards lol :)
When it comes to friends I tend to do most of that stuff on-line so we don't exchange cards. Instead I tend to draw them something, or perhaps write odes for them depending on my mood. If they lives in the UK I would send them cards though as it would add that extra level of closeness.
All the best,
Dranz
