You are always welcome Kala to my discussions, irrespective of the fact whether you have thorough knowledge of the subject or not. You see I find the spirit of participation more important than anything else. Please do not say that yours is a 'useless' response, I never never think it that way and will not every think so. You took the initiative to respond, despite the fact you do not use mobile handsets much. I appreciate your gesture and you become special because you are the first one to kick start the discussion. I can understand your predicament about your knowledge of mobile handsets, specially, when you have not been using mobile phones earlier, due to one reasons or the other. Hope you start using mobile phones sooner than later and will be able to tell me how good was your handset.

It means that you have tried different makes and you did not find any of them durable, as you would have liked to have. I think now a days cell phone's life is short and they do not last long.

Most of my phones are outdated now. They are mostly basic models. As far as I am concern, as long as I call out and receive calls, they will do. No need to join the fashion Janes to be always onto the newest models.They are not inexpensive, you know...

I think that Nokia 6030 handset is not a very long lasting handset and it is not durable or designed for long run. One of my friends has the same set, he has also been facing 'display' problem with this set. I understand that while buying new handsets, we should make our mind that these can go out of order anytime/anywhere. Thanks for dropping and sharing.

yes deepak you are right we should keep in mind that they doesnt lost long.. but it was my husband's first gift for me.. so I am keeping it safe.. lol..

I agree with you that older version of Nokia brands were more durable than the present ones. The existing mobile handsets are not so durable and they do not last long, no doubt that newer sets have some advanced features, but one cannot be sure of their lives. It is good that you could re-start your Nokia phone, even if it got washed in the washing Machine.

Nokia have some very handsets, however, I have developed a feeling that now a days these are not more durable and it can conk out any time. We will have to make oursevles understand that handsets are fragile now a days and it is life is not known, even if we keep them safely.

You appear to be lucky that your Motorola handsets have not given you any trouble. I wish it should not create a problem for you, because if a sets is used for considerable period of time, one feels that s/he has got his/her money's worth.

I fully agree with you that 3210 was the best and the most durable ones, I bought one for my better half some 5 years back and it still works fine. You are right, now a days may be cell phone companies are using cheaper materials which do not have long life.
We will have to make oursevles understand that handsets are fragile now a days and its life is not known, even if we keep them safely. I think that 2626 is one of the best handsets. It is good that it helps you send text messages in bulk.

Exactly so for people like me who is always on a budget it's not wise to spend much on celphones. I want one that I could use for maximum of two years and buy a new one again afterwards. The cheaper the better. Not necessarily the latest models but those that came out about a year ago would be best because their price value will have dropped by almost double sometimes.

You are right Nokia mobile handsets and for that matter handsets of other companies are not so durable and long lasting and if you drop it on the floor, as you sister did, these are so delicate and fragile that it will start creating problems. However, we cannot help it, we need mobile phones, as they have become an integral part our lives.Many thanks for sharing.
