Punishment Fitting?

People that ABUSE CHILDREN are the LOWEST of the low..they should be incarcerated & NEVER let outof prison...PERIOD.... i want to be an ADVOCATE for ABUSED CHILDREN, and am looking into it as we speak.I pray to GOD i am chosen to do this VERY IMPORTANT JOB....NO you do NOT get PAID ANYTHING to do this..You are an advocate for a child in COURT CASES & you are there speaking ONLY FOR THE GOOD OF THE CHILD/CHILDREN!!!! I KNOW I would be VERY GOOD at this 'job'.. The welfare o children is the MOST IMPORTANT THING EVER.. People ned to start paying MORE attention to children, & being able to RECOGNIZE ABUSE when it is happening....ANYONE that disagrees with me, then they have NO feelingsfor the children...Lori

No, they definitely are not severe enough. A child abuser is uncaring and unfeeling and they should be in jail for a long, long, long time. And I think they should be required to go to counseling too. A lot of people were abused as children but that doesn't mean they have to repeat the abuse on their own children.
My father was an alcoholic and because of that I choose not to drink. I don't want to repeat his mistakes. I only wish more people would make that decision and not continue their family's legacy.

They should be more strict. You're right there are quite a number of people who get a slap on the wrist and that is why there are many repeat offenders.

The punishment should be more severe, I agree.

I hate the fact that most abusers are never even cought. Parents can beat the child half to death and as long as athorities don't know it, no one does anything at all. I know someone who was beaten every day and has many injusier to prove it. When he went to school with a broken leg, no one cared. When he had problems with his back, no one cared. When a child was walking with a cane, no one asked why. They just let it go and turned the other way. Needless to say his parents never got any punishment and to this day live happily without even understanding that what they did was wrong. This guy, i'll call him X for confidentiality, has memory lapses, he doesn't remember chunks of his childhod because they were simply too painful to remember, now he is starting to remember things that no child should ever learn. His uncle was a child molester, and it seems that he molested X too. He has memories of him going to his mother saying that he loves uncle mark even though uncle mark hurts him. Last year at thanks givings dinner when they were waiting for everyone to come over he was woundering if uncle mark was going to come over too. for some reason he wanted his uncle to come but didn't know why. Then he thought that he has a knife on him and it would be a good idea to stab his uncle. he had no idea why he would think so, but he wanted to kill his uncle. A few month later he remembered how uncle mark came over after a trip to another country and brought money from that country. unkle mark gave this money to X and X's mother made a coment that uncle mark was paying X for s@x. Since that day uncle mark was avoiding both X and X's sister who now also has memories of being molested by the same uncle. What did their parents do about all this? they obvoiusly knew what was going on, but they did nothing, absalutely nothing. Now that uncle mark in somewhere in florida working for church, working with kids.
