Hi mylotters, I work in a school and we celebrated teacher's day in our school.... All the teachers also tried to remember something about their teachers and commented on it.... I also remembered about my biology teacher whom I loved very much...
So mylotters do you remember any of your teachers who taught you when you were in school or college, what do you remember about him/her....

1. erikmama (2152) | 5 months ago | For some reason I have an excellent memory when it comes to things like that. I use to pen pal about 15 years ago, and found one of my old pen pals on myspace!I remember lots of my teachers. My 6th grade teacher was Mr.Marsh. My best friend and I caused this man so many problems he passed us because(and I quote)"Having you 2 again next year will cause me to have a heart attack". I remember several other teachers,Ms.Hudson from 8th grade who gave me the worst paddling you could ever imagine, and Ms.Carder from 2nd grade. Thats about all I remember about her. O yes and my evil high school principal, Ms.ONeal. Lots of love there too. Yes, I was bad!!

Graceekwenx (540) | 5 months ago | This is so funny... Why do school principals never fail to be so mean?! Even our high school principal gave me hard time when i lost my ID. She scared me off to the extent that i almost peed standing up! Dang! I would never forget the way she slapped the ruler on the table! This is sooo funny!

|
erikmama (2152) | 5 months ago | I think it is a requirement for pricipals to be mean! Of course I gave them all a reaosn to be mean!!

20021114476 (345) | 5 months ago | The 6th grade teacher's words you quote made me laugh. I remember that in college, there is a professor who always told us that instead of having a "heart attack", he would rather let us do whatever we want to do but still the grade is dependent of our performance and not to anything else. If we want to attend his class wearing nothing, its fine with him as long as we are studying. Isn't it funny?

2. Graceekwenx (540) | 5 months ago | yes of course i remember my teachers and i guess i will never forget them. i remember ms. tiongco, she was the first teacher who saw my very odd writing! I write backwards when i was a kid! I am referring to really backwards not the backward slant ok. Good thing she did not refer me to a shrink at an early age. And another one is Ms. Portin, who made me stand in front of the primary school because she claimed that i keep on standing a lot when all i did was to put the eraser back in the blackboard! And another one was Ms. Gargar who really thought i was pretty and no one admit that i really am one. And the last one was Sir Bayubay when i was in college. He is one of the best professors ive ever met and all students like him because he is very outgoing, talented and smart!

|
kkanaka (393) | 5 months ago | Wow!!! you write backwards thats great.... You also remember their names..... I really have trouble remembering names... I forget them very soon....
| |
|
|
20021114476 (345) | 5 months ago | I used to have a classmate (a girl) who writes upside down and backwards too. I remember that when we were on our science classroom, she told me that she wants to write our notes for me. I agreed and sometime after that, I noticed her weird writing style. I worried but she assured me that it will be fine. But then again, I still worried. After my second remark, she gave up and returned my notebook. In fairness, she have a lovely handwriting.
About teachers, I have a teacher whose name is Miss Tengco, our fourth grade adviser.

|
|
Graceekwenx (540) | 5 months ago | I have a question about that girl you said, the one who write weird like i do. Is she an an introvert or is she really weird? Does she many any friends?

3. phoenix1344 (433) | 5 months ago | Yes I do have a few amazing teachers that I will always remember. My fourth teacher is one of them which is funny because my first day I hated her. She was so strict and I was afraid of her. But she wasn't mean at all in the end. She really helped me improve in many different areas.
Aslo my Geometry teacher in my junoir year. She was the sweetest teacher I ever had. She never ever yelled or got angry. she always smiled and she was a great teacher. At one point i let my friend copy my homework and she caught us.. and instead of getting mad she just took both of our papers and said she was disappointed. and that was all it took. She was such a great teacher!

4. red_amethyst (1647) | 5 months ago | Hi kkanaka,
Yes, I do remember some of my teachers who taught me in High school and college. Especially, if they have done something really memorable on my life.
I remember this one particular teacher of mine in English when I was in High School, at second year, she gave me a really good grade, but when Third year comes, she gave me a grade that is not qualified for the Valedictorian award, which is the cause why I wasn't the Valedictorian for our batches. And this teacher is now the teacher of my younger brothers in different school now. And when my brothers are telling stories how the teacher teach in class, I could just laugh, because she didn't change a bit.

kkanaka (393) | 5 months ago | Yeah some people never change.... Especially teachers....

5. saurabh27587 (279) | 5 months ago | Hi KKanaka
Well, teachers! I remember quite a few but not really in a large number. The teacher to whom I am still attached are there in my memory and I guess they will be with me through out my life. Its now 4 years having done with my school life and now being into the final year of a professional college, rememberig school teacher is quite tough. Teachers in my engineering college are not teachers actually they are more like a friend which means they are offcourse remembered. Dont know the future whether I'll remember all of them or not?

And, to those I have the mailing addresses, I write letters and send cards at Christmas time too.

7. lawana_f (288) | 5 months ago | I remember many of my teachers for many different reasons.
There is Mrs Jones who was my third grad teacher, who allwed me to lern from my mistakes and addressed the fact that I had dyslexia long before it was a common problem and the way she began to teach me to overcome the problem. No that she ever gave it a name or made a big deal about it in front of the class, she quielty help me and pointed me in the right direction.
Then in fourth grade there was Miss Kilgore. We were her very first class. As a new teacher I am sure she found us a challange, but she brough what I know recognize as freshnees to the schoolroom. She had a way of inspiring us to do our best.
Mr Osburn was my 7th grade math teacher who taught us algebra before it was called algerba becuase he expected the best from us we gave it to him. And my 7th grade english teacher who's name is beyond my grasp at this moment. She is the teacher that taught me to see the movie in my head as I read a book and for that I will be forever greatful.
Mr. Estus taught 9th grade Algebra and actually made it to where us math challanged students could at least manage to do it even if we did not understand it. I learned to memorize the steps to answer many different kinds of problems.
Given time I could probably list al of my teacher and give each of them the credit they deserve as I know each of them taught me something important including how to make decissions and organize my notebook adn my life.
GOD BLESS all teachers and know that you do make a difference in more lifes than you will ever know.
To Mrs Owens, Mr and Mrs Walmer and Mrs Zimney thank you for what you gave my children.

Graceekwenx (540) | 5 months ago | wow, teacher discussions could really go on forever dont you think?
| |
|
|
lawana_f (288) | 5 months ago | I do hope that it does and that teacher find out about it and read it as teachers do not make enough money or get enough credit eor the work they do. I wish I could find each of me techer and tell then the difference they made in my life. I ran across one of my highschool teacher about 10 years after I graduated and was able to tell her what her teaching did for me and what she herself by example did for me. I wish I could do this with them all.

|
|
kkanaka (393) | 5 months ago | Your teacher really really helped you overcome your childhood problem, a salute to her as such problems are hardly recognized by parents and less can be expected from the teahcers......
| |
|
|
lawana_f (288) | 4 months ago | There are always teachers out there that care enogh to learn about the different problems that their students might be going through and that will go out of their way to make sure each student gets what they need, but they do not get paid extra for all of that extra work. Children who get these teachers are very lucky indeed.
Also sorry I did not proof my last post on this subject and as I read it now it should have been proofed.

9. 20021114476 (345) | 5 months ago | During the second grade, our adviser were a Math teacher. I remember that she was Miss Garcia at that time and when I reached my fifth grade, she became my Math teacher for the second time. At that time, she was already our Mrs. Cuevas. Another elementary teacher which I still remember is Mrs. Surizaki. I remember that Surizaki is her maiden name and I always wondered why she still uses it. She was my fifth grade adviser and she teaches English. I remember too that she wants us to pronounce each sounds as if we were native English speakers which were hard on our part at that young age (we are Filipinos and English have so many sounds in which not all have Filipino counterparts).
On my first year in High School, our Philippine history teacher was an old maid. She is always nice to us (too nice if I may). I also like my second year Asian history teacher. I remember that one rainy day, I was late in the class together with the few others and she allowed us to attend a make up class. My third year World history teacher is weird. She was also an old maid. She is an extra strict teacher which have a high standard so everyday in her class, she is always irritated. But then, she have a pleasant aura when we are outside the classroom as if she is free from some force which drives her to push us up to the top. I always wonder whether she have a split personality.
Oh! We are now in college but I guess, I will end here and put whatever details I have in mind in a new response somewhere in this discussion. Whenever I deem it related.
