Are you a good person?

Hi Hatley, I am glad you liked the story. Many had really become numb about true caring. Many will help in exchange for the big bucks. I do hope kindness remains in the hearts of those who are in the position to help.

I think the moral of the story is to care unconditionally. That is what is asked of us Christians. The doctor missed his mark. He valued his fee more than the joy he could give out of his seeming intelligence and expertise. Too bad the mother thought he was worth more than what he thinks himself to be. Many of us also miss the mark sometimes.

Many doctors, just like many other people in lucrative professions, are tempted to become wealthy at once. That is why they could not forego their fees. I do pray that doctors would not forget that they were blessed with intelligence to be of service to their fellow men.

Doctors are nothing more then, collage educated dim wits. Healing the body take more then tools and machines. God grants everyone the power to heal, and could use these powers if they only believed in he who gives this power. I am an 8th grade dropout, but when I was 48 I took a GED test and passed, I have been a machinist without any training, I can heal pets and animals by my power Jesus gave me, and I still to this day don't take pay for this. I could just as well went to college and been a vet but have no need for success or recognition. I live for my own satisfaction of helping any other living thing that is a creation of God.

Hi itsmychoice. I do not generalize. I know some doctors who are about the kindest healers. Not only do they charge less than they really should but they also support their patients to the fullest. One gynecologist waited and stayed in the hospital the whole night just to see his patient alive. Some people like you may be blessed with the power of healing and it is the gift of the Holy Spirit. I know that you have helped many because of that gift. You are a blessing!

Hi BStuff, I bought a dissecting kit for my daughter in pre-med yesterday. It was just a small clutch bag with a forcep, a scalpel, a magnifying glass (I think), and a few other tools for studying a frog. When I saw the instruments, I said a prayer that should my daughter become a surgeon, please God, let her save lives according to Your will. Perhaps it is not too late for you to take up medicine. Maybe you could become a pediatrician. It is not as stressful as being in the emergency room or the operating room.

Kindness resides in the heart. The doctor could not have liked the native wallet but he could have accepted it anyways. That is so easy to do. But he was preoccupied with the fee he wanted and failed to see the gesture of thanks the mother had wanted to give. Hospital rules also require payments. The doctor knows that the mother would have to pay her bills eventually.
