What is your Favorite kind of Soups? | | I just Got finished eating a big bowl of creamy tomato soup, It was so good! I use to order this alot in Applebees Reasturant, So I decided to try a new recipe, I got from watching a Hunting show with my Husband... one of the Guys on there had a suggestion for making a creamy tomato soup, he suggested that you use a can of milk instead of water in your tomato soup, with a little pepper to taste, and microwave it, he also suggested eating it with cheese puffs instead of crackers.. So that is what I had for dinner tonight, only I used cheese balls instead of cheese puffs. and it was so Good... yum .... What kind of soups are your favorite? do you have a certain way you fix them?

deathspectacular (888) | 4 months ago | It's super easy once you get the hang of it. For meat broths: Put whatever kind of animal you want into a large pot filled with water. It doesn't have to be a lot of meat, what's more important is having gristle, bone, and fat on it. Hence using chicken wings for a chicken broth. Or take apart a carcass after roasting poultry. If you're not sure, asking for soup bones when you go to a butcher shop will give you an idea. Next put in very basic veggies and spices. You don't want to add salt to it, because you can always add it later. I usually add some celery, carrots, onions, peppercorns, and a bit of garlic (cloves preferably). Boil all of this for at least 2 hours, more preferably. After it's done cooking and you've let it cool off a bit strain it with a wire mesh strainer to get all of the various tiny food particles out of it (soup sludge as I like to call it). Then make it into a soup and/or freeze it. I use ice cube trays to freeze it, and then put the broth cubes into plastic freezer bags.
It's kind of labor intensive, but it's not hard. Afterward you have a really easy way to make things healthier. Use the broth in mashed potatoes, packaged ramen, gravies, etc.

agv0419 (2384) | 4 months ago | I like chicken noodle soup, pork or beef stew and sinigang. I like eating soups during rainy days. I like when my mother cook stew in wood or charcoal because the taste is different it is more delicious, the umami taste is there. Now that it is raining here it is the best time to eat anything with broth.

| | | 2. Ros3Taylor (61) | 4 months ago | I make a homemade sweet potato, parsnip and corn soup it is delicious, the basic ingredients are sweet potato, parsnip, corn (quite obvious) with onions, paprika, black pepper, you could add other but I like to keep it simple. Oh yeah and Olive oil.
I do not add salt either because I like to taste the natural flavouurs.
I start by boiling the sweet potato and parsnips in water till it is cooked but not too soft and mushy. I then sautee onions in olive oil, then add the spices. When this is lightly cooked I add the parsnips, sweet potato and sweetcorn. I normally use the frozen sweetcorn. I allow the flavour to mix for a while then I remove from the heat and blend. It is advisable to let it cool for a bit before blender because some blenders arent designed for heat ( I discovered that with my glass blender when it cracked!!!)
after blending you can return it to the heat it you want to serve immediately otherwise let it cool and then refrigate till you are ready to use it.

The soup is so much tastier and creamier. With tomato, I usually add cracked pepper, chopped chives, chopped fresh mushrooms, celery seed and then a pat of butter in the centre after I put it in a bowl. I NEVER microwave tomato soup as it comes out much better stirred over low heat on the stove and the mushrooms get heated right through. I have toast cut into strips with garlic butter and use them to dip in the soup. WONDERFUL!

| | 4. laurahen (336) | 4 months ago | Oh man! I love to eat tomato soup! It's so nice and warm and creamy and i love to put lots of nice milk into my soup. It's even better to have the soup if you eat a grilled cheese with the soup. But soup is a really nice thing to have as a comfort food. I really like mushroom soup as well. Both of those soups are amazingly cream and great to have for lunch time.
There are also different soups that are even heartier like chili and different types of lentle soup. These are so filled and you can put some cheese in them to make them even more filling. I like to make these soups homemade cause i know what's in the and can make the amount that i want.
