Have you suffered from emails not delivered? Recently, I am aware of two emails, one from New Zealand, and one from Thailand, that did not reach my inbox, and were not returned to the senders. These were from my step children, so the addresses should have been no problem. And yesterday, I recieved a snail mail from a friend of many years who informed me he had scanned and emailed the information to me two days earlier. This also never reached my inbox, or was reported to him as not delivered.
As the three cases have occured over the past three weeks, I am wondering if I have a problem with my email, or is it a computer problem? Any other myLotters experiencing similar problems, or has any advice for me? Thanks, and enjoy your day.

Hey,
Yea I have had that happen to me quite often, mainly due because the recipient has given me the wrong email address, or because I have typed in their email address wrong, this has happened a few times. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

Are you using a yahoo email? You might want to check if it their emails are going in the spam folder. Also check the domain (e.g., @yahoo.com, @gmail) it's possible that your internet provider may be blocking it. Most of the time though, they should get a bounce back email. I do technical support that's why I know this stuff hehe.

These things do happened, if not from the miss type address then its probably just caught up in the traffic - poor line condition or an interruption/over burdened of one of the server along the way. But this happens rarely. This is the reason why having an alternative email address is important for those situation that you need the mail to reach you very badly.
I have encounter this occasionally and even here on myLot where certain responses or discussion notifications don't reach me, and just surprised to see them in my friends activities.

Hey ferdz, thanks for the information. I would think the addresses were correct, as with the three cases I'm aware of, they have been emailing to me for some time. Iy could be a case of hitting the wrong button, though, I guess. Thanks for your input.

I am not aware of anything like this happening to me at the moment but I went through a very stressful period with my previous provider (I don’t know if I am allowed to mention who it is here). I used to receive my emails days later or not at all and my emails would often be ‘down’ and I could send but not receive or vice versa. It was so aggravating and went on for ages and I was studying at the time and relying on my emails to send my assignments to my tutor. We ended up taking our case to the Ombudsman because as you can imagine the help desk was useless each time we phoned with out problems. We won our case and were allowed to get out of the contract early.
From the moment we switched to a new provider the emails were working perfectly and have been for almost two years now. I would be inclined to check your ISP.

Hi paula, I'm glad to hear you took them to the cleaners. The problem with situations like these is you don't know until someone says that they didn't recieve something. Maybe I should do as you say and check with my ISP. Thanks for your advice.

It seems to me that this problem is bigger than I thought. Thanks for your input.
