| | | | | | 1. thinkingoutloud (2449) | 4 months ago | Way back in high school, I liked the same guy for all 5 years. I was painfully shy back then and didn't have the nerve to tell him. So, I waited... hoping he might catch on. He was really popular, good looking and so many girls wanted him. In fact, he and I were great friends and I got phone calls at home from other girls telling me to "stay away from him." I never stayed away but I also never "competed" and he dated several of them but for very short times and very unsuccessfully. It wasn't until years later, after college, that he came to visit me out of the blue on my birthday (how he remembered, I never knew). In the midst of a fun conversation that night, I admitted how I'd felt about him all through high school... he went quiet, then looked at me and all he said was, "WHY didn't you ever TELL me?!" Then and there, I knew what could have been. Oh well... lesson learned;) So to answer your question, in the present time if I was interested in someone and he was single and available, no I wouldn't let go again. Everyone deserves to be happy and everyone has a choice about who they might be happy with... no one else should try to control those choices:)

thinkingoutloud (2449) | 4 months ago | When I got calls to stay away from him, I was genuinely hurt and I felt intimidated... even when the calls were from girls that I didn't like! I was also angry that someone would have the nerve to tell me to "stay away" from my best male friend. He and I always stayed friends, in spite of the threats from the other girls. At the time that we had our conversation on my birthday, when he asked why I never confessed my feelings way back then, we were both already in other committed relationships so there could never be anything between us. Do I feel like I missed an opportunity with him? Yes, I do... but I also believe that things happen for a reason so maybe we were simply destined to always be just friends.

| | 2. eLsMarie (1157) | 4 months ago | me and my best friend have not arrived in this kind of situation but i would say that if the guy is already taken by me then i'm confident that she won't take away the guy from me and vice versa. however, if the he's not taken by the two of us then it's up to us if we'll wait for the guy to confessed to us the girl that he likes or no confession at all if we see him with another girl.:D

asweetie (570) | 4 months ago | hi elsmarie, Thanks for the response and i am sure that once you know that ur best friend is infatuated with someone or any guy you wont fall for him but the question is you dont know she is in love with him and you too fall for him.. then what.. would u stop trying so she can try or would you say let the best girl win and both try their luck.
