How can I best organize my coupons? I've gotten better at clipping them, but how are they to be organized? By time expired or by merchandise type? Also, does anyone have advice about where (what websites, etc.) to obtain the best coupons? Thank you and I appreciate it.

1. much2say (694) | 4 months ago | I used to get those cheap, cardboard coupon organizers, but the flap always eventually tore off. I think I went to Target, and bought a plastic coupon organizer (it may have been just an small expandable file with about 12 or so tabs) and have used the same one for nearly three years now!
I go by category, that way I can find the coupon that I need. I always make a grocery list, so I try to sit down and find all the coupons I need before going to the store. If there are good coupon deals, like freebies, I like to keep them at the front of the file so they are in my view!! I don't bother putting them in order by expiration date . . . every week I just look through all the coupons and just throw out the expired ones or the ones that are about to expire that I know I won't use.
The Sunday paper is the best source of coupons for me. I'm not into looking and printing ads from the computer for some reason (?).

4. malamar (453) | 3 months ago | I just sort my coupons by type - grocery, clothing, shoes, and whatever. Just plain old fashioned envelopes work well for me for sorting the coupons. Go through them before leaving for the store to check that one hasn't yet expired.
Did you know in many countries you can just google the coupon type you are looking for, and have them mailed to your home for free? Type in FREE GROCERY COUPONS, or FREE BABY COUPONS, or whatever type you are looking for.
Only use coupons for things that you really need. Buying an item you don't really need just because you have a coupon somewhat defeats the purpose.
Good luck with your coupon shopping. I hope you enjoy your savings!

5. Thoroughrob (7971) | 2 months ago | I sort my coupons by the isles of the store that I usually shop. That way, it is a little faster to go through the store.
