Happy Grandparents Day...  

I love my grandparents too! I wish them a happy Grandparents day, too. Unfortunately I just lost my grandmother almost a year ago, but I still want to wish her a happy Grandparents day, too. I still have three more to see, though, so it's really nice. I just wish I got to see the one that lives out of the country a little more often! That would be really nice.

I think I'd only heard of this holiday a few years ago maybe even last year. I don't think it says it on our calendars, so I didn't know yesterday was grandparents day. I talked to my grandmother without realizing it was a holiday for them! lol!

Well I appreciate the heads up on this! I'll have to call them sometime and say hello! Of course, I'll wait to see if something else unfolds to give me reason to call, lol!

But I agree with you very much, though four of my grandparents have passed away.

Actually, I got along well with my grandma, my mum's mum. When she passed away 13 years ago, I cried sadly in funeral parlor.

As per Chinese tradition, being a filial person is very important. But I really wonder what's wrong now. More and more news that son/daughter don't take care of his/her parents when the parents are old, they even drive their old parents away. It's really despicable!!!

So I think everybody must respect elders, no matter parents or grandparents, or those stranger elders.

Hi, thats a great thought! I love my grandparents very much. Sure they deserve a honour for their sacrifices and great help. Its a good point you showed us, i really appreciate it.

Hi joannaleed.Well I did not know that there was a special day for grandparents as well.But I dont think it is very unfair them because our parents might have already celebrated their parents day.Isnt it?But still you are right grandparents are very special part of our life and hence should be acknowledged.Anyways have a nice day ..

My grandfathers both from my father's side and mother's side passed away already. But my father is already a grandfather to my two children. And I am very grateful to him for being such a wonderful lolo to my children. He would always spend time with them no matter how tired he is from work. I am glad that we have set a day for grandfathers to make it known to them how lucky we are to have them around. It gives children a moment to realize the value of their grandfathers and for grandfathers to feel important and valued.
