I agree with you. I like having people that I talk to online, but I never found it necessary to call people from MyLot. I think I have enough friends in real life where having more online would just be difficult (and I only have 4-5 close friends, so I'm not saying this to boast!). I didn't know MyLot friends called eachother or emailed eachother either, so this is news for me too.

Surely each one of us is unique and what one person does is not what another would do? Some of us have a few close friends and lots of acquaintances and others lots of friends but none really close.

I am in contact with some online friends and some are Lotters. That is my choice but not necessarily everyone's. When something clicks and we move to PMs and then emails it seems natural to then be in contact on the phone and meet if that is possible too

It wasn't till recently I discovered you can click a link to find MyLotters living in your area.

I did check out a few - some I already know, from checking out profiles - but the nearest MyLotter to me hasn't been active for over a year.

I'd like to PM my friends, especially regarding work issues as some of them are writers as well - but I'm too embarrassed!

The only PMs I get are from people begging for referrals - they get chucked off my friends list.

Do not worry I don't think you are alone in the way you feel. I am quite cautious when it comes to getting close to people too. I didn't know that myLot friends met up in person or spoke on the phone either. I don't have any myLot friends that I meet with, and I do not of anyone on this site that does so. But it doesn't surprise me that much as there are almost 200,000 members on here now!

Its true that good friends are find to hard in the real world. I have heard from other mylotters that there was one member who has announce her birthday here and wishes to receive a birthday card on her birthday. Apparently, she received a birthday card from one of mylot members! Its amazing and true.
I could not believe it. I have many mylot friends and I don't delete them as much as possible. There are times that I am not active when I am travelling but when I get home, I am addicted in mylot again.

i didn't know that either. Though i don't think that's entirely neccessary i prefer the internet relationship better.

Well, my friend that makes the two of us. I don't know about any mylotters meeting around the places. I don't even know where to keep track of my friends here in mylot. One thing for sure is that I really like mylot and I believe that this is a social site.So I guess I better start learning on how to make friends here.

Regarding on friendship. I believe that friendship is the only thing that can be trusted in this whole world. That if you have a good friend and a reliable one too. I have a friend of my own whom I could trust and I could rely on anything. That's what friendship is for me though. That's what I have in mind.
