Explanation Please

ok bt i thought 'copywrite' articles say 'copywrite' on them, don't they? none were copyrighted though.... thank you for the explanation thesupport..although this will probably get deleted too...*sad* lori

What I find strange is some of the deleted discussions WEREN'T articles...I am really puzzled by the deletion of so many all at once from your account.

I hope it's ok that I contribute in the middle of your discussion?:) Newspaper articles, magazine articles, all of those, either in print or online are all copyrighted material - you don't have to see the word anywhere for them to be copyrighted. You can assume that a news site, for example, holds the copyright to the materials it presents (someone wrote them either as work-for-hire or as an employee). On any of the sites I've either managed or moderated over the years, the policy on copyrighted material was always no more than a couple of lines to one paragraph quoted from the original article (basically as an introduction or explanation) and then a link where the reader could see the rest of it at source. Never, under any circumstances, could a whole article from anywhere be reproduced in full. Not an "official" answer... just based on my own experience:)

thinkingoutloud is right..just because it doesn't say copyrighted, all articles are considered copyrighted, and lambie is right that you didn't provide the links to the original source otherwise then it's considered plagiarism at least some of the ones I saw didn't have links. Whenever I do news type discussions I always provide the links...haven't done any news discussions in awhile, so it would be "interesting" if I did, and did provide links if my discussion might go bye-bye--how many discussions of yours went to mylot heaven anyway?????

Pye yes they are al corect i did forget on a few of them..over 40 discussions got deleted, BUT NOT ALL were 'news' articles either, there were a lo of things tht i asked about too...oh wel live & learn..thank veryone..lori

i also believe that those discussions were removed because of the copyright issue. it's not necessary to put the word "copyright" in those news articles, as long as it is published by some entities online and in print, it's automatically a copyrighted article.

I just tik someone went thru & was jealous of me &reported me for a lot of diffferent things.. Just wishthe coward woul comeforward & take hold of what hey did...but i doubt that will happen..oh well lol..lori

Well guesss some of them did violate mylot guidlines, unbeknowenst to me.. BUT I did file a "Missing persons report on Roz..so we'll see wha happens withthat..lori
