Do you prefer costume jewerly or real gold jewelry?

I actually don't wear a lot of jewelry most of the time for the simple fact that I prefer real jewelry as opposed to wearing costume jewelry. I actually have all of the real jewelry that I need as well, but I don't wear it on a regular basis because when I wear it and there isn't a special occasion I feel like I am flaunting myself. And, I definitely don't have a reason to do that. On a regular basis I only wear my wedding band and engagement ring, and an earring in my cartilage.
However, if we are going out somewhere nice I will wear a necklace, and earrings (diamonds and hoops) in my regular ear holes.

Hi there, I think every member here will prefer real gold jewelry so i do. But the main problem is money, it is too expensive to buy gold for our family. So best way is to buy costume jewelry which is quite light on our pockets and does the work of gold jewelry.

I still prefer the real ones over fancy ones. I am allergic to most fancy jewelry which at times suck. Fancy jewelry may look cute at a time, but with time, it gradually fades and gets destroyed. Whereas the real jewelry withstand time (I've seen real gold jewelry that were still owned by a great great grandmother). But I'd still invest in the real gold jewelry as they don't tarnish easily as fake ones do:)

I prefer the real ones too. There are girls that look good wearing fancy jewelry but I feel I am not one of those girls. I like simple real gold jewelry like diamond stud earrings and solo pearls. Even if they are expensive, it's not a problem for me because I have no intention of buying more. My mother likes to collect jewelry whereas I am already happy with what I have -- which, incidentally, are all from her

I don't wear jewelries often.And eventhu i want to wear costume jewelries still i can't.I am an acidic person so,wearing accessories or not real gold will make me itchy and would give my skin rashes,so,i can't wear unreal gold jewelries.

I like good jewelry but not necesarilly gold. There are lots of fine jewels made from other materials. I love ethnic jewelry and they use other metals and stones. Mexico has wonderful silver jewels and in the United States, the jewels made by the Pueblo indians are awesome. They use silver and turquoise and are usually masive pieces.
Colombia has emeralds that look good on gold but in Brasil they use many times the semiprecious stones alone.
I have some nice jewelry, some of it expensive. I like to think that it will be for my grandaughter later on. As for now, she doesn´t deserve them. I bought a wonderful pair of emerald earrings that I couln´t afford when she was 15. Fortunatly her mother quickly put them away. She uses those big costume earring that are not worth over a dollar.
