Pork is certainly a popular item all year round and not only for christmas. And it has the advantage of not being seasonable either.

Christmas is not particulary celebrated in Greece as it is not a big thing, Easter is. However a family meal does take place on christmas day. The traditional Greek family christmas dinner consists of pork and celery. Pork is not in the shops too early for christmas as it is in the shops all year round. It also does not depend upon the season to be available, as say grapes. Although my comments were made in the lighthearted way which Hic appreciates you will find each word I typed to be completely genuine. And I am not enamoured of being told to grown up, that rather applies to you if you choose to blow raspberries.

Meats does take an important place here for my Christmas, Years ago it was Ham and Chicken. And a roast meal.

But it depends on the weather now, But we still have a hot meal and then a cold meal.

Easter is a big one for Fish.

Pork as pork has never been a big thing but the cold ham has been.

Well here it's Lamb for Easter Hic, the meat is the central aspect of the Greek meals, and usually the lamb is running round a few days before under the nickname of Sunday lunch. Also the advent of foreigners has lead to more turkeys wandering around just before christmas, as they don't realise when they order them locally that the turkey will be delivered as is, but dead.

I hear turkeys aren't too keen on having sage bread and onions stuffed where the sun don't shine when they're in a position to disagree on the subject!

Ah but here we have no need to force the stuffing up the turkeys rear end as they can mosey along eating as much wild sage as they like and thus come with the unique taste already emanating through their feathers.

It did indeed offend prash as we aren't in the playground, I thought the word pies left on all your discussions would have hinted at my anger.

This is obviously the fault of Roy Wood and Wizzard wishing it could be Christmas every day.... With the shifts I work I can never remember what day it is so I could quite easily have mad mondays any day of the week.... and usually do...

I think some find some things a good selling item at Christmas or Easter then try to get more out of it in off season.

That is true. I have not seen the Christmas eggs yet, but anything is possible, with things, and people, the way they are now. Many are quite confused.

There are Mince Pies and there are Christmas mince pies, but some people can not tell the difference, HA HA HA.

And there is a difference.
