Out of Date, Pies. |
|
A radio report from Scotland, (107.8 Black Diamond FM) You can this radio station on your PC, just Google and click it in.
Anyway back to their report, It is that People are complaining that stores are selling Christmas Mince Pies (now at this time of the year), well not so much about selling them now but the fact that the "Out of Date" on the product, falls in October......... I'd say a little short of Christmas.
And on the local scene there is a bakery selling, "Easter Hot Cross buns" over our our School Holidays,(Now) Buy Five (5) and get one free (1).
I wonder is he is early for Easter or are these buns left over from last Easter. HA HA HA.
Have you seen this with Christmas or Easter Foods in your area???
Have they lost the plot or are they not quiet up with the Christian thing??? (knowing dates)

1. jonjee0203 (1815) | 4 months ago | Well you have certainly picked out some very unique developments in the pie-bun industry. They must be getting ready well in advance for these pies and buns to be available well before its season. Otherwise, they are ensuring pie and buns are available the whole year round. In that sense, they are ever-ready.........

thea09 (4872) | 4 months ago | Prash my dear fellow, my comment was entirely genine and not one word was not the truth. I suggest you read it at once before adding suitable apology.
Christmas is not particulary celebrated in Greece as it is not a big thing, Easter is. However a family meal does take place on christmas day. The traditional Greek family christmas dinner consists of pork and celery. Pork is not in the shops too early for christmas as it is in the shops all year round. It also does not depend upon the season to be available, as say grapes. Although my comments were made in the lighthearted way which Hic appreciates you will find each word I typed to be completely genuine. And I am not enamoured of being told to grown up, that rather applies to you if you choose to blow raspberries.

hiccup (6651) | 4 months ago | Meats does take an important place here for my Christmas, Years ago it was Ham and Chicken. And a roast meal.
But it depends on the weather now, But we still have a hot meal and then a cold meal.
Easter is a big one for Fish.
Pork as pork has never been a big thing but the cold ham has been.

thea09 (4872) | 4 months ago | It did indeed offend prash as we aren't in the playground, I thought the word pies left on all your discussions would have hinted at my anger. You need to remember that I am sensitive but not to be crossed and we'll continue to get along just fine.

Wizzywig (2886) | 4 months ago | This is obviously the fault of Roy Wood and Wizzard wishing it could be Christmas every day.... With the shifts I work I can never remember what day it is so I could quite easily have mad mondays any day of the week.... and usually do...

4. maximax8 (10827) | 4 months ago | I wouldn't ever eat out of date food. I bought some jam tarts and then realized they were one day of of date. I phoned the shop and they said sorry. They sent me a ten pound voucher to make things up to me.
I have noticed hot cross buns for sale at other times of the year that just at Easter time. I think the shops just want to sell and have lost the plot. Best wishes my friend Hiccup.

6. ShirleyBillingsley (898) | 4 months ago | Last year, i lived in a larger town, and they had Christmas decorations going up by September and October. I think they also had the Christmas candy out by that time. They call it promotion, trying to make more money out of the season. I have not noticed so much in this area being put up yet though. I did see some decorations and items being put up in one store just the other day. Of course, that is basically what it is now days, is the media, stores, and businesses trying to make more money. It's not like it use to be, when Christmas really had a meaning. I guess for some, that know what Christmas stands for, then it does still have a meaning.

hiccup (6651) | 4 months ago | I did see Christmas EGGS, (like Easter Eggs)I feel someone got the story very confused.
Maybe it was some one of another faith and beliefs trying to cash in on the Christian thing.
And had no Idea when Christmas and Easter is,
