Gold or Silver Jewelry, Which One Do You Prefer?  |

 I like both gold and silver jewelry but I must admit that I prefer gold jewelry(yellow over white gold)over silver jewelry. For one, silver is a bit difficult to maintain (once it turns black, you have to dip it in a silver cleaner) whereas with gold, you just clean it once in a while or even less often. Price-wise, silver is of course cheaper than gold but I find that gold is of a stronger material. What is your preference?

I am a guy and don't wear any kind of jewelery but the woman in my family prefer gold. My sister or mother would always be buying gold to wear though they might have plates of silver. Yes silver is very cheap as compared to gold and thats why gold is brought in ounces while silver in multiples of 100 grams and also silver needs more maintainance than gold and in jewelery gold looks much better than silver.

My husband had alreay gold rings passed on to him by his favorite grandmother and his beloved mother which he wears in a gold necklace (rings as oendants). He wears his gold wedding ring more often than I do. He's more devoted to me or the gold ring? Just kidding. He prefers gold over silver like me. | |

For me, I don't have any silver jewelry now. What I have are gold and white gold. I like white gold the most.
For silver, it is not only difficult to maintain, of all, it does cause inflammation or redness to my earlobes if I wear silver earrings and redness around my neck if I wear silver necklace.

I do have a strong affinity for gold jewelry and as your rightly said, white gold is very nice. Lately though, I settle for silver jewelry because gold is becoming expensive.
