Doma Repeal introduced

It's been a long time coming but now a repeal to the DOMA act is gearing up. This act is unconstitutional and only serves to exclude a certain group of US citizens who also pay taxes and have families but federal law prohibits them from legally being a family, which means if a same sex couple is covered under one insurance plan then they get taxed for not having an opposite sex spouse on the plan, where if a hetrosexual couple is under one plan they do not get taxed.

If a partner from a same sex couple passed away they cannot transfer the right to property unless the surviving partner pays an estate tax which can be up to 45% of the property value but if a partner from a hetrosexual couple passes away the surviving spouse gets property transferred to them and they do not have to pay an estate tax.

Just like if a married same sex couple from MA goes to a state that does not recognize same sex marriage and something happens to one partner the hospital can refuse to allow the couple to see each other claiming they are not family or related.

So many people claim it's a religious thing and it's clearly NOT. If the US federal government continues to discriminate against gays and lesbians then maybe we should stop paying taxes or start movements like getting the federal government to not recognize ANY marriage so it would hold no federal benefit, no tax break of any kind of married couple or for being a surviving spouse.
