Anxiety Pangs |
|
Call it what you may. Butterflies in your stomach, nerves, whatever. The truth is, there is this unknown fear gnawing at your vitals. You cannot sit still. You are awaiting for an event to take place, for something to materialize; for a hope or wish to come true. A man awaiting the birth of his first child will be prancing up and down the waiting area of the maternity hospital. The student taking an examination will be biting his lips and sweating profusely in his hands. Some just need to go to the toilet all the time. Those who are playing the stocks have anxiety pangs all day when their stock keep on going down. Similar reactions from those who are attending a job interview. What is your experience with anxiety pangs? Any story to relate?

1. gracefuldove (682) | 4 months ago | hie jonjee, its indeed strange as i dont feel any anxiety pangs. i just felt good and an inner peace enveloped in me as i had the opportunity to sit for an exam which i was studying deligently for, the water bag burst and i was admitted to have the birthing of my baby and i was looking forward to be connected to a beautiful life with this wonderful person called our baby, the excitment and enthusiasm to prepare for my first interview in the working environment and i cheerfully journey through life, always expecting the best for myself, my family, relatives, friends, acquaintances and even for strangers ( that in some ways i can help someone every day of my life no matter what small deed i do or did).even in adverse situation,( which to my mind was a temporary trap and there is always a solution) i always feel and believe that goodness would come out of it as i believe that there is a reason for everything to happen. to me its more of the power of expectations rather than anxiety pangs.

jonjee0203 (1779) | 4 months ago | Well, I think you have a very different mindset about your childbirth. You were expectant and so your positivism could have overridden any anxiety attacks. First timers always never know what to expect. Perhaps you could have read plenty and could anticipate and expect. You seems to have an anticipatory attitude from what you wrote. That is good.

2. ItalianAngel73 (130) | 4 months ago | Hi jonjee! Wow, your discription of anxiety pangs was right on the the money. As someone who suffered from anxiety attacks as a teenager, I know the feelings very well. My anxiety was mostly socially related. I still suffer bouts of it now and the feelings are as you described: the unkown fears, the butterflies fluttering in my stomach, the trembling, the sweating that feeling of crawling out of your skin. I fly about twice a year and I always worry myself into a near panic attack before I get to the airport. Once I'm on the plane and I'm in the air I'm fine, but before that the anticipation of it all makes me nearly sick! I just try to deal with the situation as best as I can. Positive self talk and of course I pray. I find that in my life no matter how "bad" a situation is, it's not nearly as bad as I always anticipate it to be.

| 4. aimeedia2x (79) | 4 months ago | Anxiety... It makes my life worst. I cant speak properly. I stammer when i speak. Sometime cant say my own name. What a embrassing condition. Speaking/communication is the most important part of our day to day life. But for me.....? It is better to be a dumb than stammer. It makes my life hell.

5. caroll30 (1088) | 3 months ago | Well I am your number one anxiety person. I worry about everything there is to possibly worry about. I am on medication for anxiety and still find it hard to fall asleep at night i get the worst anxiety in the evening and during the night hours. I dont know why I have always had it but it seems to be getting worse. I worry about money, my hubby, my family, you name it im worrying about it. Without my meds I would not be able to survive I know I would drink achohol all the time my family does that but since I am on medications I do not drink achohol. I dont have a specific story my whole life is one big worry.
