Same Sex Marriage - I'd like to know what the big deal is...

So just what is the big deal? If someone I don't know (or even if I do know them) wants to get married to someone of the same sex, how does that affect me? The short answer...it doesn't. I would like to hear from everyone but I am most curious to hear from those that are against it for no reason other than to see if someone can come up with a REAL reason same sex marriage should not be legal. I mean think about, you don't have to like it but is your marriage to someone of the opposite sex suddenly going to colapse? Do gay and lesbians have to answer to God (assuming they believe in God) for their choices or do you? Should someone that is gay be able to tell someone who is not gay who they can marry and who they can't?
