Ahahaha... you know what dude being nice to someone most of the times girls misinterpret it..
But don't feel sorry about it..atleast you did what you need to do.
Maybe she doesn't know the meaning of "nice" instead of saying thank you MR. SHORTYAKBAR
but she didn't...but really if i was that lady I will smile and say thank you.^_^

I think if you are good to some one in this era of generation for no reason, people suspect you, why are you doing this thing and specially when it comes to girls. I suggest avoid because they think they are the one who belong to other world. Its always good to help but it all depends on the way and to the person you are delivering your help. You are a nice guy, it will surely help one day. This will add one point to the tally of your good deeds and surely it will deduct one from that girl. Don't worry and keep the good work and personality with you always.

thanks for sharing this discussion. i still believe that a lot of girls like a gentleman guys. because im one of them... ahihihi... but ofcourse now a days not all girls can appreciate that kind of gesture which sometimes it is misinterpret but it depends on the girl of course...
but it is very nice if a lot of girls will do that to me, it would be very flattering... ahihihi...

Hi ShortyAkbar, it is nothing but ill manners to me when girls misinterpet having a door held open for them as chauvanistic, and please do not let it stop your practice of excellent manners. When they ignore the gesture of make offensive comments just reply as you did with the 'You're most welcome' line.
Yes women should be treated with equal respect in the work place etc and have independant rights, but most of us are still women who appreciate these gentelmanly gestures and would never be offended by them. I'm also most appreciative of things which men do such as on our manic, mainly male dominated roads they will wave me into a line of unmoving traffic or rush to give guidance on how to park the car when they see my inevitable struggles. We may expect equality but that does not rule out chivalry. Continue with your most excellent ways and take no notice of the ill mannered.

What she mumbled could mean a good thing, it was because you did not understood it. I knew that most women want doors to be opened for them. The still prefer that old gentlemanly ways of men.

A man got to do what a man got to do. As long as you believe that what you did was right then don't think of any thing else. For what she mumbled all about, you did the right thing too, saying something nice. Keep it up!

I think its really quite hard to tell because not all girls are alike and each one has her own way of understanding. I think some girls feel quit insuted of that thinking that men are thinking that they are weak like they could not even open doors for themselves. I think it is possible that some girls think of it that way and i think there are also some that feel flattered when someone opens a door for them. But as i have said not all girls are alike.

yes this is very true, but when i did it, the girl gave a beautiful smile and went.:) that was so awesome, i felt really good, but it depends on different girls i think if a girl is offensive then she will give you hard looks but if she's not offensive, she will surely give you a good smile.
