Misery And Hostel

I have seen both of these. I really Love Misery, and Catherine Bates. It is truly a great movie to see, and I can never seem to get enough of it as well. From someone who Loves to write it just makes me never want to have something like that happen though. As for Hostel, it is totally a different type of movie than Misery, but an interesting one as well. Thanks for bringing up as a reminder 2 great movies not worth missing.

I have seen Misery so many times. Kathy Bates is so bad in this but I still love her. She is a great actress. They show it on TV alot. I have never heard of Hostel. I have to check this one out.

Hostel 1 and 2 are pretty good. If you want to see a good horror movie, check out Wolf Creek, its an Australian film really really good and scary plus gory. Also The Shining with Jack Nicolson is also a very decent flick as well

MISERY and HOSTEL are two very excellent gory horror movies that I've watched.
Kathy Bates is so devious and wicked so much so that she really scared the living daylights out of me. The torture scenes in the movie are extremely gross, not for the faint hearted.

HOSTEL gave me the shivers. Those American college buddies didn't know what evil they were getting into on their travels to a Slovakian town. The two European beauties, Natalya and Svetlana are scarier than you can ever imagine.

Quentin Tarantino puts his name all over everything he touches. Quentin Tarantino presents a Quentin Tarantino Production of a Quentin Tarantino Film. Even the two-part episode of CSI that he wrote and directed (which BTW was one of the best episodes of an amazing show). He didn't do that with Hostel. He let Eli Roth take all the credit for it. That, to me, was a screaming indication that it probably wasn't going to be the greatest film ever made. When a producer like Tarantino who likes having his name in big bold letters doesn't put his name in big bold letters on the movie poster, it doesn't bode well for the film. Plus I hate slasher movies. Almost always, they forgo plot in the interest of gore and high velocity spatter.

Misery was pretty awesome, though.

Never heard someone called Hostel "great" before. It was always "Hostel sucks" but I never agreed with it. I always thought it's decent movie but far from great. The worst thing about Hostel are characters imo. I just didn't care about them at all. Actually, I kinda wished they'll die in a very painful way so no suspense for me there. Sequel was piece of crap.

If you like brutal (torture) movies like Hostel, watch "Wolf Creek" or "Martyrs".


I have yet to see Misery but I remember I've seen some scenes from it on youtube.

i love both movies too! i am a stephen king fanatic so i try to watch all movie adaptations of his novels. misery is a very good book. cathy bates did a really good job in that movie. i like hostel too. really gory and all.
