chocolate covered bacon |
|
When you go to a fair or carnival there are all these deep fried foods to try. Now there is a new one. Chocolate covered bacon! I'm not sure if it is deep fried or not. I haven't had a chance to try it, but I think it sounds good. I think the sweet and salty combination would be delicious. Have any of you ever tried this? Would you try it if you had a chance?

1. rdadey (331) | 3 months ago | I've seen it on TV but have never tried it. I would like to though and I will make some myself sometime soon. You need a long skewer stick and you put a slice of bacon on it, how can I describe it, like stitching the stick through it. You then deep fry the bacon until it is crisp. Then you dip the bacon in melted chocolate. If you've made candy and stuff you know what I mean. Anyway, I would assume it's not something you would want to eat a lot of or very often, bet it taste evilly good.

3. caragh2608 (1017) | 3 months ago | No way. Bacon, yes. Chocolate, yes. But separately please! Sweet and salty foods just don't work together in my opinion. Especially with 2 such strong flavours. I like to keep my dinner away from my dessert. Bacon goes with eggs, not chocolate. (And now I'm thinking about creme eggs lol)

bmorehouse1 (637) | 3 months ago | I like sweet and salty things together. I love to eat ice cream and potato chips for example. I am not much of an egg lover, so I like bacon with other things. Everyone has their own tastes!

4. sender621 (780) | 3 months ago | I had never heard of chocolate covered bacon until now. Sounds like it would be something good! I will have to look for it at the next fair I go to. How long has it been around?

5. geebobuk (112) | 3 months ago | Is this something that you have seen in the USA? I have not heard of this in the UK before. I love both chocolate and bacon and am intrigued as to whether this would work. The only similar thing I can think of over here has been deep fried Mars bars.

bmorehouse1 (637) | 3 months ago | Yes it is in the USA - in Iowa is where I heard about it. There are a lot of selections of deep-fried food at the Iowa State Fair. It's fun to try different ones. Best wishes!

6. involved62 (630) | 3 months ago | I like sweet and salty stuff but this is a strange combination for me. I like to eat bacon by itself and chocolate, must surely be eaten just like that (well, except as a topping on a sundae). I don't think I will buy it for myself but wouldn't mind tasting it from somebody.
