I really wanted to buy a camera. An SLR. For professional one. I am not a professional though, but I really love to have one.
Do you have any advice for me on what brand and model I would buy. I really don't have a big budget, so go easy on me. Thanks.
Happy mylotting.

1. shankarbaddi (475) | 4 months ago | Hey friend as you have mentioned that you don't have enough budget i suggest you to opt for a normal camera which which has high pixels. This will help you to take good pictures. Nowadays we get camera of different range and quality. I suggest you to take a camera which has around 12 MP[mega pixel] this will enhance your picture taking distance and also increases the image clarity. Opt for sony or cannon as they are the best i can say.

2. elmasahe (335) | 4 months ago | If your planning to buy a DSLR my suggestions would be Olympus E420, Canon 1000D, Nikon D40, Pentax KM or Sony A200. Among the four entry level camera Canon is the most expensive but has also the best quality pictures. My recommendation would be to get an Olympus E420 cause it is affordable but has the features of a mid range camera. These are all entry level cameras and you could check these out on www.dpreview.com. . Since you are from Cebu I suggest you choose between Canon and Olympus. Canon has a lot of lens and accessories sold here in Cebu and as for Olympus you can order the lenses online or from olyclubph.com. You can find the best prices here in Cebu at Photoshoppe at baseline and Pixelpro at park mall. I hope this will help you decide.

3. stormragetz (333) | 4 months ago | Most camera manufacturer have a basic SLR model for amateurs. In my opinion, a cheap SLR should do the trick, because you should also invest alittle on good lens. There should be a package whereby you can get an starter SLR plus some beginner lens for a good price.

marctiu (406) | 4 months ago | Thanks for the suggestion. I am planning to buy a beginner's kit and I am planning to buy a cheaper one for starter and as long as the image is clear and I am satisfied with it. Well that should do. Have a nice day. Enjoy.

| 4. pbh1974 (6) | 4 months ago | I've just bought a Canon EOS D1000, sometimes called a Rebel in other countries. I got a twin-lense kit which cost a little more but has really added flexibility to the camera. So far I'm really happy with the results, and have a trip overseas in about a month, I'll give it a good try out then. I settled on the Canon on the advice of the sales guy (of course) as he said on eof the benefits of Canon is that they have such a dominance in the market that accessorizing the camera down the line is easier than for other brands. The functionality seemed pretty similar to all entry-level DSLR's so that made a difference for me. Good luck!

| pbh1974 (6) | 4 months ago | The kit cost just under AUD 1,000, with a second 75-300mm Canon lens. Loads of features on the camera, many of which I am yet to discover! The camera is 10.1 mega-pixels, but unless you intend to blow your photos up to a very large print size this should not be an issue. The point-and-shoot setting with the lenses on auto-focus make the unit very easy to operate right from the time you take the camera out of the box. It has morea dvanced settings to work through as and when you are ready. Mine came with an additional instruction book and DVD which will make the learning that much easier. Have a great day!
