Which Picture Should I Use Here? |
|
There's my avatar---a foggy cut-out of Buddy Christ juxtaposed over a black-and-white drawing of the former Archangel; and there's my picture---taken at a recent 10-year high-school reunion. (I don't know which one I'm using now, but I'll try to put them both where you can see them.)

But of course in the end it is still totally up to you on whatever you feel more comfortable at placing. The most important thing is that you're happy with it, right? hehe

mythman (1125) | 3 months ago | I thank you for your opinion, although Christ and I don't share your idea of what is appropriate.
Did Jesus Christ say, "Some guy talking about the Spirit of Truth will lead you into all truth"? To my recollection, He said it was "The Spirit of Truth" Himself who would do that.
And I'd rather not have responders as$ociate 'the Spirit of Truth' with this lowly form (I mean, not that I would rather have them associate 'the spirit of lying, conniving, ripping-off and of all the other fruits of "money-making"' with this mortal form; but that 'this mortal form' shall pass, and I don't want The Spirit of Truth to be seen as 'gone because I am gone.')
But at the same time, I don't want to be seen as some untouchable object-of-devotion (like a Nichiren Buddhist Gohonzon or a Christian altar-cross ... something that people feel like they have to be 'sanctified' to discuss with).
For whatever reason, people feel like they have to be all-'formal' when chatting with a divine enti+y---but not when they're chatting with a fellow human who happens to be super wise ... 'The prestige that comes with power corrupts even the most-divine beast,' I guess.

angryeve (181) | 3 months ago | Hi mythman, I think you got me all wrong with the christ issue. I'm not an anti-christ or anything. And when I used the term, more approriate, I was only referring to the idea that it's more personal that we get to see a photo of you while we chat. It gives a conversation a more personal feel. That was what I was only trying to saying and not anything about how I personally feel and think of christ. You didn't have to lecture me about the spirit of truth and all that..??

2. maezee (4173) | 3 months ago | I like your current one best, I think. You look like you're a very talented artist! But in my opinion, I like the.. personality involved with actually putting a face to the "voice" (if you will). But that's just my opinion!

3. keep_onwatch (1577) | 3 months ago | Im just not able to decide, the current one is a pic of you. So we can all have a look of who is the one involved in the discussion. The other one is of Christ and its what you believe in. In any case, whatever you want is what matters the most.....

mythman (1125) | 3 months ago | So, is that to say the real pic symbolizes what I actually think and feel, while the drawing symbolizes the 'training' that taught me to think and feel this way?
